BA AI and Law Program OP Jindal University-the university has launched India’s first Bachelor of Arts (BA) programme in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Law. Eligibility

Applicants  to the B.A. in Artificial Intelligence and Law at  JGLS must have successfully passed the examination at the 10+2 level of  schooling from a recognised board. This course is open to students from any  stream including Arts, Commerce, Science, etc.

Admission to the 3-year B.A. in Artificial Intelligence and Law programme of JGLS will be on the basis of National Level Entrance Exams including LNAT-UK/JSAT-Law/CLAT-UG/CUET-UG

Internships

Students are required to undertake 5 mandatory internships at the end of every semester. For every 2 internships in a year, they will be awarded 2 credits counting to a total of 4 internship credits.

Fee

4 Lakh Per annum

Course Outcome

  • Knowledge of the role and functions of AI in society
  • Knowledge of regulatory and governance frameworks on AI
  • Ability to evaluate AI systems and programmes in terms of ethics, policy, strategy, and regulations     
  • Ability to foresee problems and possibilities and map scenarios
  • Ability to formulate policies, law, and strategies
  • Competence to evaluate, develop responses, and certify AI solutions

The course will equip students with a deep understanding of AI technologies alongside core legal principles. Graduates will be prepared for careers in technology law, AI policy making, compliance, and ethical governance.

Arjun Ram Meghwal, Union Law Minister was the chief guest and shared his view, “we are living in the 21st century, and regressing is not an option. We must embrace the present and focus on how to use technology effectively while addressing its challenges. The human element will always remain essential, and if we advance alongside it, technology can assist in many areas, such as resolving pending court cases and facilitating translations.” He also addressed concerns surrounding the use of AI, including ethical issues and the need for data and privacy protection. The minister encouraged the public and the audience to share their suggestions and perspectives on these matters.
