SCERT Assam PET 2025 Syllabus for D.El.Ed Admission

All interested candidates must appear for the Pre – Entry Test (PET) for admission to the 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D. El. Ed.) course. The PET syllabus has already been released by the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Assam. In this article, we will discuss the syllabus for the 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D. El. Ed.) course.

The PET exam includes General English, General Knowledge, Reasoning, General Mathematics, General Science and Environmental Studies, Social Science, and one language (Assamese, Bengali, or Bodo). The exam has a total of 100 marks and all questions are multiple choice. Candidates should follow the syllabus issued by SCERT Assam for PET exam preparation and solve previous years’ question papers. Thus, candidates will be selected through the PET exam and will be granted admission to the 2-year D. El. Ed. course. Candidates should study in a timely manner for exam preparation and prepare according to the syllabus.

Name of course: Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) 

Duration of the course: Two years

Name of entrance Exam: Pre Entry Test (PET)

Duration of the PET exam: 2 hours 

Total marks: 100

The SCERT PET shall have two sections: Section-1 and Section-2

Type of question: MCQ (Multiple choice questions)

Number of question: 100

Mark carried by each question: 1

MARKING CRITERIA

1. The evaluation of candidates’ performance will be based on the correct and incorrect answers recorded on the OMR sheet.

2. For each incorrect answer, 0.25 points will be deducted from the total score obtained for the correct answers.

3. If more than one answer is given to a question, it will be considered an incorrect answer.

4. Candidates should record only one answer on the OMR sheet.

5. The final score of the candidates will be determined based on the correct and incorrect answers.

Section: 1 [35 marks]:

A. General English 10 marks

B. General Knowledge 15 marks

C. Reasoning 10 marks

Section : 2 [65 marks]:

A. General Mathematics 15 marks

B. General Science & EVS 15 marks

C. Social Science 20 marks

D. Language (Assamese/Bangla/Bodo) 15 marks
