HP LEET 2025 Registration Begins Soon: Eligibility, Exam Pattern, and More

The Himachal Pradesh Takniki Shiksha Board (HPTSB) conducts the Himachal Pradesh Lateral Entry Entrance Test (HP LEET) for admission to lateral entry in 2^nd year diploma in engineering/ Polytechnic/ Diploma in Pharmacy courses. The exam is a gateway for diploma holders and  graduates to pursue a degree in engineering.

Eligibility Criteria

• 1st year Engineering courses and Architecture Assistantship course etc.   – candidate must have passed 10th standard with 35% marks at the qualifying examination from a recognized Board/University or its equivalent as prescribed by the AICTE/COA.
• Admission to 2nd year (3rd semester) in Polytechnic Engineering diploma courses – Passed 10+2 examination with Physics/Mathematics/Chemistry/Computer Science/Electronics/Information Technology/Biology/Informatics Practices/ Biotechnology/Technical Vocational subject/Agriculture/Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies/Entrepreneurship. 
• Diploma Pharmacy Course – A pass in 10+2 examination (science academic stream) with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Mathematics. 

Admission Process

• The admission shall be made strictly on the basis of merit of marks obtained in Polytechnic Admission Test-2025 (PAT / LEET -2025) conducted by H.P. Takniki Shiksha Board Dharamshala. 
• The eligible candidate(s) who have not applied for PAT-2025 can also apply for 2nd round of Online Counselling and subsequent rounds of Centralized Offline Counselling as Non PAT candidates. 

Minimum Qualifying Marks 

The applicant must secure 15% marks for General Category and 10% marks for reserved categories in PAT-2025 to qualify and participate in the online process for admission to 1st year diploma courses for the academic session 2025-26.

Exam Pattern 

Marking Scheme 

• There shall be 4 Questions in Question Paper.
• There shall be 4 marks awarded for each correct answer.
• Negative Marking – 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. 
• There shall be no re-evaluation or re-checking of answer sheet. 
• Question paper Language – bi- lingual i.e. English & Hindi for the Math, Physics & Chemistry Portion Only. 

Scholarships

• The Technical Education Department specific Scholarships will be awarded to the students of Diploma level Courses in Engineering / Technology including Architecture or any other equivalent course approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). 
• The Scholarship shall be awarded in order of priority on the basis of (i) Poverty-cum-Brilliance and (ii) Brilliance. 
• The Scholarship shall be awarded only for Poverty-cum-Brilliance if the total income of the sources of parents or guardian is not more than Rs 36000/- p.a. 
• The Scholarship shall be awarded strictly according to merit to be determined with reference to (i) Income of parents or guardian and (ii) Marks obtained in the Examination / Class by virtue of which a candidate is eligible for admission provided the students has Secured atleast 60% of marks in the said exam. This condition will however not be applicable to SC, ST and Girls Students. 
• The students who become eligible for scholarships on the basis of povertycum-brilliance shall first be awarded scholarships. After their list is exhausted, the remaining scholarships shall be awarded on the basis of brillance. 
• Only those students shall be eligible for the award of scholarships who are Bonafide Himachali and ward of H.P.Govt.employees. 
• Diploma level courses students including SC and ST will get Rs.200/- p.m.
• Total nos. of Scholarships for Diploma Courses are 75.
• 100% Scholarships shall be awarded to the SC, ST and Girls Students in Diploma Courses.

• Open your search engine and visit on the official website of HTSUB (http://www.hptechboard.com) 
• Click for Registration for Polytechnic Admission Lateral Entry to Diploma in Engineering LEET(2nd Year).
• You will reach the homepage of “Eakadamik” portal. 
• You will be redirected to the information page. 
• Click on “New User Registration” .
• You will be directed to “New Registration Page”. 
• Enter all the details and click on Submit button. 
• After submitting the form an Email and SMS will be sent to you on your registered email ID and Mobile No.
• Applicant will be allotted unique online Registration Number and the same will be acknowledged/informed through email and SMS . 
• On the home page click on Login button. 
• Enter the Login and Password to login.
• You will be redirected to the Application Form. 

How to Fill LEET and PAT 2025 Application?

Step-1: Go to the official website of the Himachal Pradesh Takniki Shiksha Board (HPTSB) or the respective university/college.

Step-2: Look for the “Apply Online” or “Registration” link and click on it.

Step-3: Enter your basic details such as name, email ID, phone number, and password.

Step-4: Verify your email ID by clicking on the verification link sent to your email.

Step-5: Log in to your account and fill the application form with your personal, academic, and other required details.

Step-6: Upload the required documents such as your photograph, signature, and academic certificates.

Step-7: Make payment: Make the payment and wait for the payment confirmation.

Step-8: Review and Click on Submit Button. 

Step-9: After submission take a print out of your application form for future reference.
