CGPSC State Service 2024: Eligibility Criteria
For Apply Candidates must have Degree from a recognized University and the candidate should be between 21 to 28 years old as on January 01, 2024.

CGPSC State Service Preliminary Examination Scheme 2024
- The Preliminary Examination will be have 2 Compulsory Papers of 2 hours Duration for each papers.
- Question Type in Preliminary Exam – Objective Type Questions.
- There shall be 100 Question in each Questions paper.
- Total marks – 200 marks in Each paper.
- All Question will have 4 Options out of which One answer is correct.
- Negative Marking – 1/3rd Negative marking in each papers.
Minimum Qualifying Marks for CGPSC State Service Prelims Exam
Minimum qualifying marks – It will be mandatory for the candidates of unreserved category to obtain minimum 33 percent marks in each paper and for the candidates of reserved category to obtain minimum 23 percent marks.
Selection Criteria for Mains Exam
- Candidates will be selected for the main examination on the basis of merit list of first paper-General Studies.
- Second paper-Eligibility test will be of qualifying nature. Marks obtained in this paper will not be added while preparing the merit list for selection of candidates for the main examination.

Mains Examination Scheme
- Question papers for Main Examination will be of Conventional nature i.e.: Short/Medium/Long answers Type.
- Candidates short listed for the Main Examination on the basis of Preliminary Examination (Screening Test) must appear for all the seven papers in Main Examination. Candidates selected for the Interview on the basis of Main Examination must appear in the Interview. Absence in any paper of Main Examination and Interview will be liable for disqualification.
- All the question papers except first -“Language” may be answered in Hindi or English chosen by the candidates. However a candidate will not be permitted to write part of the paper in Hindi and part of it in English
- Paper II – Essay – There will be two sections in this paper. 1. International and National level Issues 2. Chhattisgarh State Issues. The Candidates will be given four options in each section and will have to write on two options from each section, the problem- solution (reason, present status including data and solution). They will have to write the essay of 750-750 words on the given subject.
