JEE Main for Admission into IITs in India
JEE Main is the first step to get admission into IITs in India. First, you have to appear in the JEE Main, and it is mandatory to be in the top 2,50,000 list when the result is declared. JEE Main score is shared by authorities with JEE Advanced.

JEE Advanced for IITs
When you are in the top 2,50,000 of the JEE Main exam, you can appear in the JEE Advanced entrance exam, which is conducted by one of the IITs in India every year. The registration process starts after the JEE Main session 2 result is declared.
UCEED for Design Courses in IITs
This is the design course entry to the undergraduate courses provided by IITs in India. This B.Des course is available in IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, and IIT Hyderabad. The application form opens in September End 2024. You do not have to be an IITian to apply for this course. Candidates from the Science Stream with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as subjects are eligible to apply to all the five participating institutes.
CEED for Postgraduate Design Courses in IITs
This is the postgraduate/PhD admission to design courses in IITs in India. The basic requirement is that you have secured a B.Des degree to appear in this entrance exam. IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Jodhpur, IIT Kanpur, and IIT Roorkee offer this course. There are two papers which a candidate has to clear: Paper A and Paper B. The entrance exam for these two papers is conducted on the same day.
PhD Programmes in IITs in India
The PhD degree admission is offered in Engineering, Science, Management, Humanities, and Social Sciences at IITs in India. There are approximately 428 seats available, including all the subjects mentioned above. Students must submit self-attested copies of their qualifying degree certificate & final transcripts on or before 31st August 2024 (for Autumn Semester)/January 30th, 2025 (for Spring Semester), failing which the admission will stand cancelled.
GATE for Postgraduate Courses at IITs
This is the entry to the postgraduate courses and is conducted for 30 papers at the postgraduate level. This year, IIT Roorkee is conducting this test. To apply for GATE, you must have cleared your graduation in the subject you want to apply for at IITs in India.
MBA Programmes at IITs in India
The IITs in India have carved their niche in MBA courses. Their placement record in the past three years has been 100%. To get admission, you must secure a good percentage in the CAT exam.
BS Courses Offered by IITs in India
This is a Bachelor of Science programme offered by IITs in India. Some IITs offer BS-MS integrated courses. The criteria for selection are regular entry and JEE Advanced-based entry. For regular learners, they have to attend the course qualifier exam, which is a four-week programme. Students have to enroll in this programme, and after four weeks, an exam will be conducted. Students from the general category must secure a minimum of 40%.
