Why is the UPTET Exam Conducted?

The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2024 is conducted to ensure that teachers hired for primary (Classes I-V) and upper primary (Classes VI-VIII) levels in schools within Uttar Pradesh meet a minimum standard of teaching aptitude and knowledge.

UPTET 2024 Eligibility Criteria:

1. Nationality: Indian citizens, including those from Nepal, Bhutan, and Tibet, can apply.
2. Educational Qualification:
3. Paper 1 (Classes I to V): Bachelor’s degree with 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D. El. Ed) or equivalent.
4. Paper 2 (Classes VI to VIII): Bachelor’s degree with 50% marks and B. Ed or equivalent​.

HOW TO APPLY FOR UPTET 2024

1. Visit the official website and click on the ‘UPTET 2024 Registration’ link. Enter your name, date of birth, and email ID to generate a provisional registration number.

2. Verify your registration using the registration number and OTP sent to your mobile number and email ID.
3. Log in and fill in personal, educational, and qualification details.
4. Pay the application fee online using net banking, credit/debit card, or through an e-challan at any SBI branch.
5. Upload a recent passport-sized photograph and signature in the specified format (JPEG/JPG).
6. Review and submit the application form, then take a printout for future reference​.
