UPSC IES 2024 Nationality Criteria
A candidate must be either of the following:—
(a) A citizen of India;
Or
(b) A subject of Nepal;
Or
(c)
A subject of Bhutan;
Or
(d) A Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st of January 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India;
Or
(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India

Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) & (e) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India
UPSC IES 2024 Age Criteria
- A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st August 2023 i.e he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd August 1994 and not later than 1st August 2003
- Relaxation to 5 years for SC/ST candidates
- Three years of relaxation for OBC candidates
- up to a maximum of three years in the case of Defence Services Personnel disabled in operations
- up to a maximum of five years in the case of ex-servicemen including Commissioned Officers and ECOs/SSCOs who have rendered at least five years Military Service as on 1st August, 2024
UPSC IES 2024 Minimum Educational Qualification:
Indian Economic Service
- A candidate for the Indian Economic Service must have obtained a Post-Graduate Degree in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics/Econometrics from a University incorporated by of an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institutes established by an Act Parliament or declared to be deemed as University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or a Foreign University approved by the Central Government from time to time.
Indian Statistical Service
- A candidate for the Indian Statistical Service must have obtained a Bachelor’s Degree with Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics as one of the subject or a Master’s degree in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institutes established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or a Foreign University approved by the Central Government from time to time.

UPSC IES 2024 Mode of Payment
Candidates can deposit the fee either in any Branch of the State Bank of India
Or
Through Visa/Master/ Ru-Pay Credit/Debit Card or by using Internet Banking of SBI. Applicants who opt for the “Pay by Cash” mode should print the system-generated Pay-in-slip during part II registration and deposit the fee at the counter of the SBI Branch on the next working day only. “Pay by Cash” mode will be deactivated at 23.59 hours of 25.04.2022 i.e. one day before the closing date.
UPSC IES 2024 INSTRUCTIONS FOR FILLING UP OMR SHEETS:
For both writing and marking answers in the OMR Sheets (Answer Sheet) candidates must use black ball point pen only. Pens with any other colours are prohibited. Do not use Pencil or Ink pen.
Candidates note that any omission/mistake/discrepancy in encoding/filling in details in the OMR answer sheet; especially with regard to Roll Number and Test Booklet Series Code, will render the answer sheet liable for rejection.

Candidates should note that there will be penalty (Negative Marking) for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the Objective Type Question Paper.
