UGC Internship: The UGC asked the higher education institutes (HEIs) to spread information regarding grants of internship support in the Technical Textile sector in the country.
The Ministry of Textiles has initiated the National Technical Textiles Mission (NTTM) to promote the technical textiles sector in the country. NTTM, vide advertisement in the leading public dailies, dated 19.01.2024, had invited applications from industries across different application areas of technical textiles and Textile Research Associations (TRAs) under phase 1. Empanelment of companies of the General Guidelines for Grant for internship support in the Technical textiles sector for imparting internship to students
These companies will implement internships to B.Tech. students (2nd,3rd, 4th year) across different specializations/departments as delineated under the guidelines.
These companies will receive fund support of up to Rs. 20,000 per intern per month for a maximum period of 2 months and 50 interns per academic year from the Ministry of Textiles.
Who can take part in the UGC internship?
Students pursuing B. Tech./undergraduates (2d1.3’ol4tn Year) covering all application areas of technical texttile across various engineering departments Textiles Technology/ Textiles Engineering/ Textiles science /Textiles Chemistry; Civil Engineering. Agriculture/ Agricultural Engin6ering/ techology Medicine/ Bio-Medical Engineering/ Biotechnology; -Design/ civil Engineering, Fashion Technology/ Fashion Design; .and mechanical ‘Engineering, industrial Engineering computer science/IT Engineering, production Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering & other similar fields.

Public institutes
The students should be studying in a public University/Institute that may be recognized by UGC , AICTE or be notified as a Deemed University by the respective Government. Students from premier institutes such as IITs, NITs, AIIMSs”, IISER”, NlPERs, NIFT, SPA, NIDs, and IISc can also take part
Private institutes:
These private university/institute students can apply for this
- lndian Private University/ lnstitute which is in the top 200 of the latest National lnstitute Ranking Framework (NIRF) Ranking across different disciplines published by Ministry of Education, Government of lndia;
- or lndian Private University/ lnstitute which has been accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) with a score of 750 or above on a scale of ‘1000;
- or lndian Private University/ lnstitute which has been accredited by NAAC with minimum score of 3.01 or grade A and above
