Established in 1963, the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade is an autonomous organization to help professionalize the Nation’s foreign trade management and improve exports by developing human resources, analysing & disseminate data and conducting research. 1. Two-year MBA – Full Time (International Business), New Delhi, Kolkata, and Dar-es-Salaam:

The MBA (International Business) – Full Time is a foundation course that helps develop intellectual business executives to contribute to the country’s growing requirements in the field of international management. The programme aims at providing all the necessary knowledge related to international business activities. The course content comprises of financial management, consumer behaviour, entrepreneurship, international management, human resource management, marketing management, supply chain management etc. The syllabi match with the World’s Best International Business Schools. 

Eligibility:

  • Recognized Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration in any discipline.
  • No age limit

Admission Process:

  • Written Test, Essay write-up, Group Discussion and Interview

The Pattern of the Admission Test:

  • Objective-type questions in (English)
  • Duration of the test: 2 hours
  • Consists of questions: ENGLISH COMPREHENSION, GENERAL KNOWLEDGE & AWARENESS, LOGICAL REASONING & QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS

Weekend MBA is also offered by the institute. Weekend classes are held on every Saturday and Sunday. The course content and examination pattern are the same as the regular one.

2. Foundation Training Programme:

IIFT training programmes are popular since the 1990s. Being a three-decade-old programme, the course content has evolved over long decades. Initially, the training programme was used to focus on export-import procedures and documentation. Now, the training programme covers the complete ecosystem of trade. The course content encompasses Indian Economics, International Marketing, International Economics, Foreign Trade Policy and Global Business Environment. In addition to classroom teaching and academic inputs, interactions and field visits are also organized. 

Course Duration: 9 to 12 months

3. MA (Economics)

In August 2018, IIFT launched its first MA (Economics) programme in specialization with Trade and Finance in both Delhi and Kolkata campuses. The first batch started with 30 students. But, today the course has gained a lot of popularity and many students prefer to take admission into this course. The objective of the programme is to prepare students for becoming excellent trade policymakers and also key strategists on trade issues in the corporate sector, directly or indirectly in international trade and financial transactions. It also helps prepare students to become full-time academicians with specialized knowledge in the Internet.

4. Certification Programmes

  • CERTIFICATE PROGRAMME IN EXPORT IMPORT MANAGEMENT (CPEM)

The certification programme in Export Import Management focuses on upgrading the knowledge of working executives of service agencies, export enterprises and also the institutions like: chambers of commerce, banks, and insurance to enhance their operational competence. The course coverage includes Export Import Documentation, Global Business Environment, International Trade Logistics, Foreign Trade Policy, Foreign Exchange Management and Custom Procedures. 

  • Certificate Programme in Capital and Financial Market (CPCFM)

Financial markets across the World are simultaneously integrating themselves and getting more vibrant. The liberalization, globalization of economies and technological advantages have warranted the need for financial market professionals. The certificate programme aims at developing professionals with adequate skills and knowledge in the context of securities markets. It also provides an understanding of the current structure, pricing and financial innovations in money and capital markets. 

  • Certificate Programme in Global Trade Logistics and Operations (CPGTLO)

The primary objective of this course is to help students develop a critical role in business logistics management. This course helps put emphasis on how effective and efficient logistics management in international trade with special reference to the Indian perspective can create time as well as also place value at micro and macro levels.

Eligibility:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized Indian or Foreign University. Even, diploma holders may opt for this course.

5.  Post Graduate Certificate in International Business & Finance

The postgraduate certificate in International Business & Finance aims to develop competence in disciplines as well as skills related to International Business and Finance. This would allow present-day managers to get equipped with the necessary competencies in order to formulate plans for International Business and Finance in the international marketplace.

6. Executive Development Programme in Global Supply Chain Management

The Global Supply Chain Management course facilitates the development of skills for solving practical problems related to Supply Chain Management. The main objective of this programme is to enhance the problem-solving ability of SC practitioners in the complex and uncertain dynamic global marketplace.
