Swachhata Campaign 4.0 – The Swachhata Campaign 4.0 is being implemented by government of India and UGC has issued the letter to all higher educational institutes to follow it. It is an initiative under the Government of India’s ongoing “Swachh Bharat” (Clean India) mission.

It focuses on improving cleanliness and hygiene across the country, specifically in government offices and public spaces. Swachhata Campaign 4.0, launched in 2023, is the latest phase of this larger effort. It encourages citizens, institutions, and government bodies to actively participate in activities related to cleanliness, waste management, and sanitation improvements

The first phase is preparatory phase that will start from the September 16 to September 30. The campaign will start from October 2 to October 31. For this the HEI will appoint the nodal officer in their institution and will arrange training to these officers. They will identify campaign sites for cleanliness, scrap disposal.

Key Features of Swachhata Campaign 4.0:

This campaign is part of the broader Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Mission), launched in 2014, aimed at eliminating open defecation and improving waste management across India.
