Sports Coaching Diploma NSNIS. Diploma in sports coaching from NSNIS-Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports is a premier sports institute which is considered the Mecca of sports in India and offers a wide range of coaching courses for aspiring coaches. NSNIS offers different levels of coaching courses, including basic, intermediate, and advanced courses. These are as follows->

Diploma courses,
M.Sc in sports,
Certificate courses,
Skill Development courses,
PG Diploma in Sports Medicines.

These courses are designed to cater to the needs of coaches at various levels of expertise. The courses cover various sports disciplines such as athletics, basketball, hockey, football, and many more. The duration, fees, and eligibility criteria for each course vary depending on the level and the sports discipline. For instance, the basic course in athletics is a six-week program that costs around INR 15,000 and is open to candidates who are 21 years or older and have a minimum education qualification of 10+2. On the other hand, the advanced course in basketball is a 12-week program that costs around INR 50,000 and is open to candidates who are 25 years or older and have a minimum education qualification for graduation.

The admission is made on the basis of eligibility and the entrance test and those candidates who have represented sports and won medals are exempted from the entrance test but they have to fulfil the application process. The entrance test is conducted all over India for some courses and others conducted at Institute.

The institute will prepare the sports-specific merit list on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in educational qualification, sports achievement and marks of specialised sports theory, General Knowledge, Logical Reasoning and Coaching Aptitude, Language and Communication, Basic Computer Knowledge examination and virtual interview.

It is important to note that a virtual interview will be conducted through an online platform. Candidates must ensure that they have a good quality laptop and Internet connection before appearing for the online interview.

A medical fitness certificate is a must and it should be issued by the Medical Officer of the Government Hospital of their respective/nearby area.

Physical Fitness Test- All candidates shall undergo a physical fitness test before joining the Institute. Candidates who qualify for the physical fitness test will only be allowed to join the course

Category-C (For North-East Candidates)

Age:

Candidate age should be between 21-45 years as of the last date of application.

Relaxation in the upper Age of up to five years shall be considered to the following

The candidate who has participated in Olympic Games/Senior World Championship/Asian Games/Senior Asian Championship/Commonwealth Games/Senior Commonwealth Championship.
SC/ST/OBC category candidates.
Those are in-service and Ex-service candidates from the Armed Forces of India.

A (I) Direct Admission-

There is provision for direct admission for candidates who are10+2 pass out and following with them-:

Represented India in the Olympics

Or

Participated in Senior World Championship

Or

Have won any Medals in the Asian/Commonwealth Games

A (II) FOR International Sports Persons

Candidate should be 10+2 pass out

Sports Achievements- These candidates should have any of the following-:

Olympic Games 2. Senior World Championship 3. Asian Games/Senior Asian Championship 4. Commonwealth Games/Senior Commonwealth Championship 5. Youth Olympics
CATEGORY-B

These candidates should have graduation degree and have the following Sports Achievements:

Participated in Major internationally recognized competition
OR

: 1. Recognized Senior National Championships 2. Khelo India University Games 3. All India Inter University games
OR

C. Two times participation in any of these: 1. Recognized Junior/Youth National Championship 2. Inter-Services/Inter Railways Championships/All India Police Games. 3. Khelo India Youth/Khelo India School Games

OR

Successfully completed SAI, NS NIS Six Week Certificate Course in Sports Coaching (in their respective sports coaching discipline only).
CATEGORY-C (FOR North-East Candidates)

They should have a graduation degree and have the following sports achievements

A. Won Medal in North East Games

OR

B. Two times participated in North East Games

OR

C. Fulfilling the criteria as mentioned in category B above.

Syllabus for Entrance Test

Specialised Sports Theory Test – Basic terminology, abbreviation, technical rules, specification of play fields/courts/arena/equipment and competition format.
General knowledge – current affairs, basic sports awareness at national and international levels, awards, rural sports in the country and sports promotional schemes.
Logical reasoning and coaching aptitude – Numerical, relationship, sequential, diagrammatic, reasoning pattern of intermediate standard. Fault finding, problem-solving and analytical aptitude.
Language and communication test – Grammar, comprehensive, synonyms, antonyms of matric standard in English.
Basic computer knowledge – Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel, terminology of computer and internet
Placement Cell

There is a placement cell of the institutes where a candidate can register. The institutes take pride of placing 50,000 plus candidates in different sports categories.
