Dear students, if you are planning to become a teacher in school for Pre-Primary and Primary Classes in Government or Private School, you need to complete a D.El.Ed. or DPSE Program from any recognized board or university approved by NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education). There are many institutions, universities and boards which offer these programs such as SCERT, NCERT, NIOS, IGNOU, Jamia Milia Islamia University and many more.

SCERT (State Council for Educational and Research Training) New Delhi has started registration process to get admission into D.El.Ed. and DPSE for the session 2024-26. The details are as follow

DIPLOMA IN PRE-SCHOOL EDUCATION (DPSE)

The DPSE curriculum aims at enabling the prospective teachers to:

  • understand the rights and developmental needs of children from conception to the age of 8 years and develop critical insight into the interdependence of child development and learning.
  • understand, analyze and reflect on the significance of early childhood care and education from an integrated perspective as an instrument for narrowing social equity gaps and be able to perceive its close linkage with early primary education.
  • be able to implement age and developmentally appropriate methods of teaching during early childhood years.
  • be sensitive to the learning and development needs of all children, including those who belong to diverse and marginalized communities on the basis of gender, socioeconomic status, caste/class, religion and disabilities to ensure an inclusive and contextualized learning environment for all.
  • understand the concept and importance of school readiness particularly from the epistemological perspective of education of mathematics, science and language and early literacy and its contribution in ensuring a smooth transition for children from preschool to primary by being able to provide appropriate learning opportunities and experiences.
  • networking with parents, community and government organizations, non-government organizations and other organizations to generate awareness and seek their involvement in ECCE programmes.

DIPLOMA IN ELEMENTARY EDUCATION (D.EL.ED.)

D.EL.ED. is a diploma-level course that can be pursued after 12. D.EL.ED. is a two-years course that is focused on child education. D.EL.ED. trains aspirants to teach the students belonging to the primary/upper primary level. The D.EL.ED. syllabus deals with subjects like Childhood and the development of children, Contemporary society, Pedagogy of environmental studies, and many more.

SCERT Delhi DELED ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Candidate seeking admission to D.El.Ed. course must have passed senior school certificate examination (10+2) from CBSE or its equivalent examination from any other recognized board or university
  • Candidates whose results have not yet been announced are also eligible to apply for admission and take computer-based test
  • Minimum percentage of marks in qualifying examination should not be less than 50% and calculation of percentage of 10+2 will be considered from any best 5 subjects including at least one language
  • 5 % relaxation of marks in the qualifying examination would be given to candidates from reserved categories such as SC/ST/PWD
  • For calculating percentage of marks of secondary examination (10th class) candidates must use appropriate prescribed CGPA/GPA Conversion formula such as CGPA X 9.5
  • Candidates opting for Urdu/Punjabi language teaching in respective institutes such as DIET Karkardooma for Punjabi and DIET Darya for Urdu, must have passed in Urdu/Punjabi as one subject both in secondary and senior secondary exams (For Government DIET only) and also include these languages while calculating the percentage of marks for secondary and senior secondary examination.

  • The maximum age can not be more than 24 years as on 30th September 2024
  • 5 years relaxation of age in upper limit is allowed for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD

RESERVATION OF SEATS IN GOVT AND PRIVATE DIET

SCERT Delhi DELED SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Admission process 2024 is based on online Computer Based Test (CBT)
  • Computer-Based Test will be administered in designated testing centre
  • The Computer Based Test (CBT) will include 150 questions for 150 marks and duration of this exam would be of 2 hours. There will be no negative marking scheme for this examination.
  • Admission will be done on the basis of rank/merit list in the entrance examination.

The application form will be fill through online mode from the official website of SCERT Delhi www.scertdelhi.admissions.nic.in . the online form submission consists of two phases as below

  1. Candidate’s registration this phase includes the entry of basic profile of the candidate
  2. Entrance application submission this phase includes choosing program, category, choice of DIET, entrance examination fee etc.

  1. Read the admission prospectus for D.El.Ed. 2024-26 and DPSE 2024-26 carefully which available on the official website of SCERT Delhi www.scertdelhi.admissions.nic.in
  2. Selection of program there are three options available for candidates to choose as given below
  3. Two-year regular diploma for Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) and /or
  4. Two-year regular Diploma for Diploma in Pre-School Education (DPSE)
  5. Applying for Both (D.El.Ed. & DPSE)
  6. Registration Details – Name, father, mother, date of birth, gender, contact details, choose password, Security PIN, Review Registration Details
  7. Application Form Submission- application details, qualification, category, filling of choice, contact details, personal e-mail ID, and Mobile No, Choice of Entrance Test Centre, Upload Document/Images
  8. Payment of Fee- 
  9. D.El.Ed.  Rs. 500 for Unreserved category and Rs. 250 for Reserved categories of SC/ST/OBC/PWD
  10. DPSE- Rs. 500 for Unreserved category and Rs. 250 for Reserved categories of SC/ST/OBC/PWD
  11. Applying for both- D.El.Ed.  Rs. 1000 for Unreserved category and Rs. 500 for Reserved categories of SC/ST/OBC/PWD

e-Counselling

After declaration of the result, a merit list will be issued on the official website of SCERT Delhi www.scertdelhi.admissions.nic.in which will contain the name of selected candidates with application number, enrollment number, name of candidates, mother name and category. The list also will have the information such as the dates of taking admission under the list.
