What is NCERT?

National council of educational research and training (NCERT), New Delhi is an autonomous organization set up in 1961 by the Government of India, Ministry of Education to assist and advise the central and state governments on policies and programmes for qualitative improvement in school education a teacher education. 1. B.Sc. B. Ed (4-Year)

The four-year integrated programme integrates general studies in science (content courses at par with those of undergraduate liberal programmes in science), and professional studies comprising foundations of education, pedagogy of school subjects, technology in education and practicum related to tasks and functions of a school teacher. It maintains balance between theory and practice, and coherence and integration among the components of the programme, representing a wide knowledge base of a secondary school teacher. The programme aims at preparing science and mathematics teachers for upper primary and secondary stages of education. The four-year integrated course is designed in view of the latest researches and experiments in the field of education. Besides, having latest knowledge in content areas, the teacher trainees become well versed in pedagogy, technology and communication skills which are integrated throughout the duration of the course. Through CEE-2024 candidates will get opportunity to get admission in B.Sc. B.Ed., in any one of the RIEs at Bhubaneswar and Mysuru.

• B. A B. Ed (4-Year)

The four-year integrated programme integrates general studies in social sciences, humanities (content courses at par with those of undergraduate liberal programmes in arts), and professional studies comprising foundations of education, pedagogy of school subjects, technology in education and practicum related to tasks and functions of a school teacher. It maintains balance between theory and practice, coherence and integration among the components of the programme, representing a wide knowledge base of a secondary school teacher. The programme aims at preparing teachers for upper primary and secondary stages of education. The students may opt one Language and two Social Science subjects as optional to enable them to become TGT (Social Science) and TGT (Language). Through CEE-2024 candidates will get opportunity to get admission in B.A. B.Ed. in any of the RIEs at Bhubaneswar and Mysuru.

• M.Sc. Ed (6-Year)

This is an integrated programme of Teacher Education leading to the post-graduate degree (M.Sc. Ed.) in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry with an aim to prepare senior secondary school teachers of physics, chemistry, and mathematics without any option of intermediate exit before completing six years of study. The programme is of six-year duration organized on the semester pattern. Each semester consists 16 weeks of instruction excluding examination. The course contents related to Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are equivalent to course content in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics included in the syllabus for the same subjects in B.Sc. (PCM) and M.Sc. (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) of University of Mysuru.

The course content related to educational components in M.Sc. Ed., is equivalent to that of B.Ed. of University of Mysuru. This degree is equivalent to M.Sc. and B.Ed. degrees of University of Mysuru. The students who pass this course are considered eligible to pursue Ph.D. degree in their respective areas in compliance with Ph.D. regulations of University of Mysuru. This programme currently offered only in RIE, Mysuru. Through CEE-2024 candidates from all over the country will have an opportunity to get admission to this course in RIE, Mysuru.

• B. Ed (2- Year)

The two-year Bachelor of Education programme, generally known as B.Ed., is designed based on the recommendations of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). This is a professional course that prepares teachers for upper primary or middle level (classes VIVIII), secondary level (classes IX-X) and senior secondary level (classes XI-XII) for applicants with post-graduation. The curriculum is designed to integrate the study of Subject Knowledge, Human Development, Pedagogical Knowledge, Technological and Communication Skills. This programme specifically provides quality teachers for secondary schools in Science, Mathematics, Language and Social Sciences. The candidates admitted to this course can opt either for Science and Mathematics or Social Science and Languages. This entitles them to become efficient teachers of Science/Mathematics, and Social Science/Language. The course is designed in such a way that the students will be well versed in content, pedagogy and technology. Through CEE-2024 candidates will get opportunity to get admission in B.Ed. in any one of the RIEs at Ajmer, Bhubaneswar, Bhopal, Mysuru and North East Regional Institute of Education (NERIE) Shillong.

• B. Ed-M. Ed (3- Year)

The B.Ed.-M.Ed. (Integrated) programme is a three-year full time professional programme in education, without any option of intermediate exit before completing three years of study. It aims at preparing teacher educators and other professionals in education including Curriculum Developers, Educational Policy Analysts, Educational Planners and Administrators, School Principals, Supervisors, and Researchers in the field of education. The completion of the programme shall lead to integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. degree with specialization in either elementary education or secondary and senior secondary education. This programme is currently offered only in RIE, Bhopal. Through CEE-2024 candidates from all over the country will have an opportunity to get admission to this course in RIE, Bhopal

• M.Ed (2-Year)

The Master of Education (M.Ed.) is a two-year professional programme in the field of teacher education which aims at preparing teacher educators and other professionals in education such as Curriculum Developers, Educational Policy Analysts, Educational Planners and Administrators, School Principals, Supervisors, and Researchers in the field of education. The completion of the programme shall lead to M.Ed. degree with specialization in either elementary education or secondary and senior secondary education. Through CEE-2024 candidates will get opportunity to get admission in M.Ed. in any one of the RIEs at Ajmer, Bhubaneswar, Bhopal and Mysuru.

NCERT has released a notification for the admission into various teacher education programmes under its 8 regional institutions of education. The online application form is available from 30.04.2024 to 31.05.2024 at official website www.cee.ncert.gov.in  the admission will be decided based on the merit list prepared based on the score obtained in Common Entrance Examination (CEE)-2024.

RIE CEE 2024 Eligibility Criteria

B.Sc. B. Ed

• Candidates seeking admission to Physical Science Group must have passed with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) (M stands for Mathematics or Statistics) and those seeking admission to Biological Science Group (CBZ) must have passed Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) (B stands for Biology or Biotechnology) at +2 level
• Candidates must have passed +2 / Hr. Sec./ Sr. Sec. or any equivalent examination recognized by University/ Board with at least 50% marks in overall aggregate of qualifying examination (relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates). The qualifying examination should be recognized by the affiliating universities of the RIEs
• Candidates who have passed +2/Hr. Sec./Sr. Sec. or any equivalent examination in 2022, 2023and appearing/ appeared in 2024 only will be considered

BA. B.Ed.

Candidates must have passed +2/ Hr. Secondary/ Sr. Secondary or equivalent examination in Science and Commerce streams or in Arts streams with at least 50% marks in aggregate (relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates) in 2022, 2023 and appearing/ appeared in 2024 only will be considered.

M.Sc. Ed.

• Candidates seeking admission to M.Sc. Ed. (Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics) must have passed with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) (M stands for Mathematics or Statistics) at +2 level.
• Candidates must have passed +2 / Hr. Sec./ Sr. Sec. or any equivalent examination recognized by University/ Board with at least 50% marks in aggregate of qualifying examination (relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates). The qualifying examination should be recognized by the affiliating university of RIE, Mysuru (University of Mysore)
• Candidates who have passed +2 / Hr. Sec./ Sr. Sec. or any equivalent examination in 2022, 2023 and appearing/ appeared in 2024 only will be considered

B. Ed-M. Ed

A post-graduate degree in science/ social science/humanities/commerce from a recognized institutes/universities with a minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade ((relaxation by 5% for SC/ ST/ PwD Candidates).

B. Ed

• Candidates with at least 50% marks in Bachelor’s Degree and /or in the Master’s degree in Science/ Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology (with Science or Mathematics) or in Bachelor’s Degree and /or in the Master’s Degree in Social Science/Humanities are eligible for admission to the programme (relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates). The candidates should upload only the marks secured in degree examination as qualifying marks
• Candidates with at least 50% marks in Bachelor’s Degree in Science/ BE/B.Tech. (science/ mathematics) are eligible for B.Ed. (science and math group) and Candidates with Bachelor’s degree in social science/ humanities or Master degree in social science/humanities are eligible for B.Ed. (Social Science and Language group), respectively.

M.Ed

Candidates seeking admission to the M.Ed. Programme should have obtained at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade (relaxation by 5% for SC/ ST/ PwD Candidates) in the following programmes / courses from any University / College / Institute recognized by affiliating universities:

• B.Ed.

• B.A.B.Ed./B.A.Ed./, B.Sc. B.Ed. /B.Sc. Ed.

• B.El.Ed.

• D.El.Ed. with a Bachelor’s degree in Arts/Science (With 50% marks in each)

NCERT RIE CEE 2024 Exam Pattern

There will be a Separate question papers for different courses. There are three groups of courses as given below: –

1.  Group-A: B.Sc. B.Ed./BA. Bed. /M.Sc. Ed.

2. Group-B: B.Ed./B.Ed.-M.Ed.

3.  Group-C: M.Ed.

Level of question paper will be as given below:

Group-A – The level of questions will be at +2/ higher secondary/senior secondary education.

Group-B- The level of questions will be at graduation.

Group-C- The level of questions will be at graduation and professional education.

For all the groups, areas to be tested and number of questions as follows;

1. Language Proficiency (20 questions)

2. Teaching Aptitude (30 questions)

3. Reasoning Ability (30 questions)

4. Medium of Test Booklets will be only in English and Hindi.

5. Total number of test items will be 80 and duration of test will be 120 minutes.

6. Correct answer(s) will carry 2 marks each, Wrong answer(s) will carry negative marking of (minus) -0.5 marks each and Question(s) unattended will carry no marks

SYLLABUS for RIE CEE 2024 Examination

1. Language Proficiency

Language Proficiency indicating specific areas like comprehension, rearranging sentences, selecting suitable words for the blanks, finding out errors in parts of the sentences, finding out equivalent meaning to the given phrases, finding out suitable words for the incomplete sentences, sequencing, grammar which includes synonyms, antonyms, idioms, prepositions, tenses, articles.

2. Teaching Aptitude

Teaching Aptitude will cover specific areas like attitude towards education, children, and teaching profession; interest in teaching; leadership qualities & group management; emotional & social adjustment; intrapersonal & interpersonal skills; digital initiatives and pedagogy, NEP 2020, and school education, NCF-SE-2023 and general awareness of contemporary issues pertaining to school education.

3. Reasoning Ability

Reasoning Ability indicating specific areas like verbal & non-verbal reasoning, missing numbers, number series, letter series, theme finding, jumbling, analogy, odd one out, arranging the statements in a sequential form, statement and conclusions, syllogism, logical problems, establishing relationships.

After download the notification, candidates should read it carefully to understand every single information for all the steps of registration and admission. To fill the online application form, candidates should follow the following steps

3. Click “New User” link if you are registering 1^st time.
4. Enter the details such as Name, Mother Name, Father Name, Mobile Number, Email ID, date of birth, create a password, confirm the same password, captcha code and Click on “Register Now”
5. Now go to the Login Page to continue the application process.
6. Click on Apply Now
7. Scroll down and read the complete instructions carefully, you need to tick the undertaking accepting the terms and conditions. Then click on Apply
8. Fill the fields of domicile with Evidence and other details such as choice of courses from the available list

10. Upload the photograph, signature and Evidence certificate. The file type of photo and signature should be in Jpg, jpeg or png but evidence certificate should be in pdf format. After successfully uploading the documents click on save and next button.

11. Make the examination fee payment

12. After successful payment click on review button to see your application details. Kindly check every single detail with focus and attention. If you find anything wrong or mistake in application form then click on edit otherwise click on next.

13. Your application form has been successfully submitted. You will get a registration number so please keep it for future reference and take a print out of the filled application form.

Selection Method or NCERT RIE CEE 2024

The rank list will be prepared based on entrance and aggregate marks obtained in qualifying examination. There will be 60% from entrance examination and 40% from aggregate scores obtained in qualifying examination. For example, if you want to take admission into B.Sc. B. Ed (Physical Science) then 60% marks from entrance will get weightage while 40% of the total percentage of marks obtained in PCM/PCB in qualifying examination that is 10+2 (Intermediate).
