The year is ending and it will end with again major controversy in CLAT 2025 where the court asked clat authorities to revisit their result declared. The year has been filled up lot of development right from changes in education system to controversies in exam both for admission and government jobs.

We have listed the big happening of the year 2024 here. Starting with NEET 2024 which was a major controversy of the year.

NEET UG controversy-The controversy emerged when the result was declared and there was a paper leak. At least more than 60 candidates received similar high marks. The matter reached to the Supreme Court. Radhakrishan committee was formed by Supreme Court. In one center in Rajasthan paper distributed was in English language instead of Hindi

JEE Advanced three attempt proposal was taken back by JAB. Candidates can attempt only two consecutive JEE Advanced.

CBSE to hold exam twice very year for class 10 and 12.

The most radical change in NEP 2024 is in the school education structure. The existing 10+2 structure has now been replaced by 5+3+3+4. This new structure is more age-appropriate and developmentally aligned. Foundational Stage: Age 3-8: 

CBSE to reduce the syllabus by 15 percent in the next academic season for class 10 and 12 students.

IIT Jodhpur included Hindi. IIT Jodhpur accepted Hindi as medium to teach students engineering in Hindi

UGC NET June 2024 exam was cancelled as it could take place on the dates released by NTA. The education Ministry said integrity to the exam was compromised.

UGC DEB portal-Commission in its 58ls meeting held on 25tt’June 2024 has declared the admission procedure for students enrolling in ODL and Online mode to safeguard their academic future and career prospects’ Accordingly, UGC has developed a mechanism for transparent admission process wherein any student who intends to enroll in ODL/ Online Programmes shal1 register on UGC-DEB web portal (URLlink: https://deb.uec.ac.in/ and https://deb.uec.ac.in/StudentDebld) with their Academic Bank of Credit (ABC)-ID for generating a unique DEB-ID.

CSIR UGC NET was also cancelled before it could start

Ayurveda Biology subject was added this year by UGC. The total paper count is increased to 84 papers

UGC Accelarated degree program-Now students have freedom to complete their degree before the stipulated years. As one can complete three year degree in 2.5 years.

Mphil Degree was done away by UGC opening the door for the students who complete four years degree can take admission to PhD courses

Admission in colleges twice year-The admission process for long has been one time in a year but now universities and colleges have been the authority to take admission twice a year by adjusting their structure

IGNOU Four Years program-Bachelor of Commerce (BCOMF), Bachelor of Arts (Economics), Bachelor of Arts (History), Bachelor of Arts (Political Science), Bachelor of Arts (Psychology), Bachelor of Arts (Public Administration), Bachelor of Arts (Sociology), Bachelor of Arts (Anthropology), Bachelor of Science (Biochemistry), Bachelor of Arts (English), Bachelor of Arts (Hindi), Bachelor of Arts (Sanskrit), Bachelor of Arts (Urdu), Bachelor of Social Work, Bachelor of Arts (Facilities and Service Management), Bachelor of Arts (Philosophy), and Bachelor of Arts (Journalism and Digital Media)

UPSSC RO and ARO controversy- The controversy emerged when one of candidate released RO and ARO paper on social media. There was widespread protest against this. Similar incident happened in UPPRPB exam for constable. The paper was leaked at that time. But later in year the exam conducted successfully by the board and result of PRPB declared.

DU students can complete their one semester in foreign university. The proposal regarding this has been put for consideration.

Government Jobs in 2024

The year saw the bumper opening in government jobs right from SSC to banks and other government institution. States were not behind in their opening for government jobs this year.

Vacancies In This Year 2024 

The total number of vacancies in 2024 is a staggering figure. According to the latest updates, there are approximately around 2  Lakhs  latest government job openings in various sectors, including central government, state government, public sector companies, public sector banks, Indian Railways, Indian Army, Indian Navy, BIS and Air Force.

SSC Jobs – SSC has announced around 83000 vacancies in total this year. SSC releases vacancies for CGL, CHSL, CPO, GD, Stenographer etc every year. This year SSC has released most of the vacancies for SSC GD Exam. The number of candidates who took part in SSC GD Exam is 47, 45, 501 but out of these only 44, 266 candidates will be selected for SSC GD posts.

UPSC – UPSC The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced approximately 1,056 vacancies for the 2024-25 recruitment cycle.

In Rajasthan State – The number of vacancies this year in Rajasthan state is around 80,000. Every year the Rajasthan government releases vacancies in Agriculture Department, Rajasthan Staff Selection, Rajasthan Paramedical, Rajasthan Nursing, Educational Department and other departments. Although in Rajasthan there are many authorities which offer vacancies like RPSC, RSMSSB (RSSB), RBSE, RAU, RVUNL etc. but this year most of the vacancies were released by RSMSSB. A total of 52453 recruitments for Grade VI posts in RSMSSB will be filled soon.

There are many vacancies in Rajasthan whose notification has been issued recently and online registration for the posts will start soon.

Haryana State Vacancies –  Every year the Haryana government releases vacancies for teaching, Group C posts, Constable, Nursing, Accountant, Junior Assistant, AMO, JBT etc. These exams are conducted in Haryana by authorities like HSSC, HPSC. This year a total of around 31,816 vacancies have been released in the Haryana state. According to the figures, maximum vacancies have been released by HSSC. In which there were a total of 6000 vacancies for HSSSC Police constable.

RRB Vacancies – RRB stands for Railway Recruitment Board. Every year a lot of vacancies are released in RRB. This year a total of around 92000 vacancies have been released in RRB for the posts of ALP, PO, NTPC, JE, Technician, Constable and SI etc., out of which the maximum vacancies are for the posts of RRB Grade D, RRB NTPC, RRB ALP. 

IBPS –   The Institute of Banking Personal Selection i.e. IBPS has announced approximately 23,000 plus vacancies this year and this is not a small number. The IBPS exam keeps on announcing vacancies for Clerk, AFO, PO SO etc. posts.

SBI Clerk – SBI refers to State bank of India. In this year SBI has released 17000 plus vacancies. SBI has released vacancies for Clerk, SCO, SO etc. posts and this keeps coming out every year.

According to the statistics, this year RRB has seen the highest number of vacancies, RRB alone has given out around 92,000 Vacancies at various Posts.
