The Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) has announced the opening of applications for the Orientation Course for Engineering Graduates and Science Postgraduates (OCES) and the DAE Graduate Fellowship Scheme (DGFS) 2025. Selection will be based on GATE Entrance Test. The Last date of Registration is January 26, 2025. Eligible candidates can apply online for the prestigious program, which offers a unique opportunity to work as Scientific Officers in the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE).

Online Examination Date
The Online Examination will be conducted in March, 2025 in each of the eight engineering discipline OCES and Four Science discipline in more than 40 cities spread across India.

OCES /DGFS 2025: Online Exam Pattern
- Question Type- Objective Questions.
- There will be 100 Question in all.
- Marks for Correct answer – 3 marks
- Negative Marking – 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
- Duration of Exam – 120 minutes.
- Exam Conducted In – BARC Training Schools in Mumbai and Hyderabad

OCES 2025 | A Trainee Scientific Officer (TSO) , who scores minimum 35% in individual subject and minimum 50% aggregate marks on overall basis on completion of the Training Programme, is declared to have passed the course successfully |

DGFS Programme 2025: Information regarding Course
- Who have excelled in the selection Interviews for the BARC Training Schools Programmes and who have also Independently secured admission for M.Tech. secured admission for M. Tech in select In select institute and specializations.
- Selected for OCES are paid stipend and tuition fee to pursue a M. Tech. degree while retaining their employment in DAE.
- During the M. Tech course, Candidates have to be involved in TA (Teaching Apperentship) programme as per the terms and condition of DGFS institute.
DGFS Programmes 2025: Placements Offers
- The Placement of the DGFS fellows on successful Completion of DGFS Programme will only be at BARC (in case of fellows who complete their M. Tech. at IIT Bombay) and IGCAR (in case of Felows who complete their M. Tech. at IIT Madras).
- Placement can be at any of the BARC facilities located in different parts of India.

OCES /DGFS 2025: Method of Selection
There is a separate two stage selection process:
- Screening on the basis of online exam/ GATE Score/ CEBS or NISER CGPA Score.
- Selection Interview.
GATE Score | GATE-2023 and/or GATE-2024 and/or GATE-2025 score in the applicable GATE subject. |
CGPA score of CEBS/ NISER | Master degree in Physics, Chemistry & Biosciences from university of Mumbai – Department of Atomic Energy CEBS and NISER, Bhubaneswar in academic year 2023-2024 / 2024-2025 7.5 on a scale of 10 will directly be screened into the Selection Interview stage. |
OCES /DGFS 2025: Selection Interview
- Selection Interviews of short-listed candidates will be conducted in Mumbai (in all disciplines except Geology) and Hyderabad (in Geology).
- Final Selection for the OCES/DGFS-2025 programmes will be based solely on performance in Selection Interview, subject to medical fitness
