NTA 2024 exam Calender. NTA stands for the National Testing Agency. It is an autonomous organization in India that conducts various entrance examinations for admission to higher educational institutions. NTA was established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (now known as the Ministry of Education) in November 2017.
NTA is responsible for organizing national-level examinations like the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main for admission to engineering colleges, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for medical and dental courses, the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT),OPENMAT for management courses, and the University Grants Commission-National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) for lectureship and Junior Research Fellowship
The establishment of NTA was aimed at standardizing the process of conducting entrance exams and reducing the burden on other examination conducting bodies such as CBSE and AICTE.
The NTA does not have any role in counselling process. This counselling process is taken care by concerned authorities
