Now NTA exam on UPSC line
What is UPSC approach?
The UPSC involves the district administration and the state government in the entrance exam process,” the source told this paper.
For conducting NTA exam Union education ministry is considering this approach so as to involve all state and district administrations during the entrance exams. All the exams conducted by NTA will be in line with UPSC model.
This is to be noted that UPSC exam centres are heavily protected by district administrations, with the collector and superintendent of police involved in the entire process.
The same approach will be implemented for conducting various entrance exams, which include CUET-UG, CUET-PG, JEE-MAINS, and NEET-UG.
This proposal came following the recommendation of the committee led by former ISRO Chairman Dr K Radhakrishnan. This committee was set up to suggest exam reforms, better security protocols, and their operation by the education ministry following the NEET-UG fiasco.
Involving the local administration would be a set up to protect from lot of mis conduct that is reported. The chances are that local administration will be answerable to the system. Result will be to make the entire exam procedure much more secure as the state administration will be part of the process. The government’s thinking is to conduct all exams related to admission in such a fashion. Also, the state administration will feel part of the exam system.”
Last month, Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan had announced that NTA will focus solely on conducting entrance exams for admission to higher education institutions. The idea was to make the system “error-free”.
