The course embraces a learner-centric approach with active participation. The institute was set up in 1965 by Ministry of Education government of India. The Institute has been identified under the Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching as the Teaching Learning Centre (TLC) in Vocational Education Training & Entrepreneurship Development. NITTTR Bhopal has also been selected as National Resource Centre (NRC) for Assessment & Evaluation in ARPIT Scheme.
