Learn Sanskrit from CSU-The application form is open for admission to Central Sanskrit University. The admission will be offered in certificate and diploma courses. To complete the certificate course you need 120 hours and for Diploma course you need 150 hours.

Learn Sanskrit from CSU

Certificate Course in Sanskrit Language (8 Credits)-

Its objective is to develop the elementary skills of speaking, writing and reading day to day practical Sanskrit. Prathama Diksha (First Level) published by Central Sanskrit University will be taught in this Course. Under this, five books i.e., Varnamala (वर्णमाला) Vakya-vyavaharah (वाक्यव्यवहारः), Vakyavistarah (वाक्यववस्तरः) Sambhashanam (सम्भाषर्म)् and Parishishtam (पररविष्टम)् are included. These five books will be taught in simple Sanskrit. A minimum period of 120 hours is required to complete the course.

Diploma in Sanskrit Language (12 Credits)-

It aims at developing the skill of expressing in Sanskrit all those ideas which are important from practical point of view. First 5 Levels of Dvitiya Diksha (Second Level) published by Central Sanskrit University will be taught in this course. Sanskrit subhashitas, stories, different types of special exercises, simple Sanskrit grammar compiled in Vyavahara-pradeepah (व्यवहारप्रदीपः) will also be taught in this course. A minimum period of 150 hours is required for this course.

Eligibility for Admission

Anyone, above the age of fifteen, who is curious to learn Sanskrit is eligible to take

admission in “Certificate Course in Sanskrit Language”. The admission is open for

all the students, teachers, employees and officers of the concerned institution and also

family members and general public.

Only those who have passed the First Course i.e. “Certificate Course in Sanskrit

Language” conducted by Central Sanskrit University will be eligible to take admission

in the Second Course “Diploma in Sanskrit Language”.
