IIHT Salem Admission 2022 for a four-year course in Handloom Technology

IIHT Salem Admission 2022: Indian Institute of Handloom Technology’s application form is open for admission. The institute invites applications from eligible candidates from Indian states/Union Territories ( other than Tamil Nadu). The admission will be offered in the first year and lateral entry( Direct 2 years).

Admission is offered for B.Tech handloom and Textile Technology

IIHT Salem Admission 2022 Admission Criteria
The admission will be based on the merit of rank obtained by the candidates in JEE Main of the corresponding year

Eligibility B.Tech first year

A pass in the HSC (Academic) or it’s equivalent. A minimum of 45.00%. average marks in Mathematics,
Physics and Chemistry put together. When the candidates produce a graded certificate, they have to produce the actual marks also, otherwise only the minimum marks applicable to the grades in the eligible subjects (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry) will be taken into account. For minimum eligibility, rounding of marks and normalised marks will also not be considered. Improvement marks will also not be considered. The candidate should have a valid score of
marks obtained in JEE main of corresponding year examination

Lateral Admission( Director 2 year) B.Tech


The candidate has passed a diploma in Handloom Technology/Handloom and Textile Technology/Textile Technology or any other diploma programme as prescribed by AICTE or

B.Sc with the ancillary subject of maths at B.Sc level or studied maths at 10+2 level or

‘Any equivalent diploma as prescribed by the Directorate of Technical Education Government of Tamil Nadu can apply.

Percentage- The candidate must have secured 45 per cent aggregate marks in diploma/B.Sc degrees are eligible to apply.

27% , 15% & 7.5% Seats will be reserved for OBC, SC and ST candidates respectively


The institute offers placement to its candidates. The companies visit the campus and select the candidates according to the requirement from degree courses or diploma courses.
