4-year under graduate course in next academic session 2023-24: The UGC has finished the framework for four-year undergraduate programme (FYUGP), and all plans are afoot to implement it at all higher education institutions from the coming academic session 2023–2024.
According to the UGC, all colleges in India shall start receiving this regulations for four-year undergraduate programmes starting next week.
The four year programme will be implemented. All the major state and private universities will implement the FYUGP from upcoming academic session, in addition to 45 central universities. Many deemed universities agreed to the implement this four year programme.
Details Regarding 4-Year UG Programmes
This four year programme is expected to receive go ahead from the UGC for both current and former students starting in 2023-24. The all new students will have the opportunity to choose four year UG programme
.Students who are enrolled in regular three-year undergraduate programmes this academic year may be able to enter the four-year degree programme in the following session.
According to the UGC, all students will have access to a four-year undergraduate degree, but it will not be mandatoryto pursue it. A three-year undergraduate degree stays there and the student has one such option for them.
The whole four-year undergraduate course timetable, according to UGC Chairman M Jagadesh Kumar, would be made public soon.

In this regard, necessary rules can be established in the academic council and executive council of universities.” Students in their last year may be allowed to participate in 4-year undergraduate courses if the university so desires,” the UGC chairman added.
