The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) Counselling for JEE Main 2025 is scheduled to commence in April 2025. This centralized counselling process will facilitate admissions to undergraduate programs in premier technical institutions, including IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other Government Funded Technical Institutions (GFTIs). Candidates who have qualified in the JEE Main 2025 exam will be eligible to participate in the JoSAA counselling process, which will involve registration, choice filling, seat allocation, and admission to their preferred institutions.

JOSAA Counseling Process 2025, Steps to counseling registration
JEE Main Qualified students will have to first register themselves on JoSAA website.
Step-1: JEE Main Counselling Registration – Open your Search engine and visit on the official website of JOSAA. For Registration Students need their JEE Main Application 2025 Form Number and Password. (Use JEE Main Registration Number and Password and Login.)
(After Successfully login JoSAA Portal the Candidates details will automatically be fetched from the JEE Main 2025 Database.)
Step-2: Choice Filling – After Registration, fill in your choice regarding the institute and course in which you want to take admission. (Choose many institutes).
Step-3: Mock Seat Allotment – The mock seat allotment process 2025 will help the candidates understand which seats can be allotted to them based on their preference list. The Authorities will conducted two mocks of JEE Main 2024 Seat Allocations to Know Their Chances of Admission into the institutes.
Step-4: Locking of Choices – Candidates will also be able to change their preferences after the mock allotment. When candidates do not lock their choices at the time of JoSAA form filling, there is a last date for locking of choices and the authority automatically locks the choices on the last date.
Step-5: Final Seat Allotment Result- The Authority will conduct a total of six rounds of seat allotment and seat allotment process of JoSAA 2024 will be done on merit, category and availability of seats.
Step -6: After above process all seat allotted candidates will be able to download the provisional seat allotment letter and print Seat Allotment Letter. Seat allotment fee will be accepted from the candidates through online mode.
Step -7: Freeze/ Float/ Slide After JEE Main 2024 seat allotment candidates.

- Freeze – Once the candidate is satisfied with the allotted seat and does not wish to participate in the further round of counselling, the candidate will have to click on the freeze option and candidate will available for document Process.
- Float – When the candidate is satisfied with his/her allotted seat, but He/She still hopes to get a seat in other institute during the further rounds. Then they click on Float option.
- Slide – When the candidate has accepted the seat allotted but is also open for admission into a higher preferred course in the same institute. They click on the Slide option.}
Step – 8: Payment of Seat acceptance fee – Candidates who will be allotted seats will have to pay the seat acceptance fee through e-challan or SBI net banking.
