job opening as an apprentice for graduate, diploma & ITi in Indian Oil. Indian Oil Corporation, one of India’s largest commercial Undertakings and one of Fortune’s “Global 500” companies, invites candidates to apply for apprenticeships at its refineries under the Apprenticeship Act, of 1961, as part of the country’s skill-building program. 1973 (as revised) in the industries/disciplines mentioned below.

The required qualification, age limit and selection method have been mentioned in the last column.

Qualification criteria

1. The prescribed qualification for Class XII / Graduate / Diploma holders should be from a recognized Board/ University/Institute as a regular full-time course in the relevant trade/discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST and PwBD category candidates for the seats reserved for them) in aggregate. Wherever CGPA/OGPA or Letter Grade is awarded in the Class XII/ ITI (Fitter)/Degree/Diploma examinations, its equivalent aggregate percentage of marks must be indicated in the Online Application as per the norms adopted by the Board/University/Institute. Candidates will have to furnish a certificate from the concerned University/Institute regarding the equivalent aggregate percentage of marks with reference to their CGPA/OGPA or Letter Grade at the time of document verification failing which their candidature will not be considered.

2. An ITI qualification in the relevant major is required with the required minimum marks. Only regular full-time NCVT/SCVT-certified ITI courses will be considered.

3. Diplomas/Degrees/ITIs in the trades/subjects of the respective professions/disciplines mentioned above are considered as qualifying qualifications only. Diplomas/Degrees/ITIs other than specified branches/subjects will not be considered.

4. Not entitled to qualifications equivalent to the prescribed qualifications.

5. Under Code 110, “Freshers” are considered. “Entry apprentice” means a non-degree apprentice who has not received institutional training or vocational training before commencing on-the-job training or practical training under the Apprenticeship Act 1961.

6 Qualification certificate holders under Code 111 are also considered. Candidates applying for and holding the qualification certificate “Domestic Data Entry Operator” under Code 111 should have a training certificate issued by an awarding agency recognized by the National Skills Qualifications Framework or any other agency recognized by the Central Government for a period not exceeding one year. in this regard.

Age Limit:

1. The minimum 18 years and maximum age shall be 24 years as on 31-10-2023 for General/EWS candidates. Relaxation of the upper age limit to SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwBD candidates shall be extended as per Govt. guidelines.
2. 2. The mark sheet/Certificate issued by the Board of Secondary Education for passing the Matriculation (Class X) Examination shall be the only acceptable document in support of age.

Reservation will prevail

Selection Criteria

1. Candidates will be selected on the basis of marks obtained by them in the Written Test (of two hours duration) and meeting the notified eligibility criteria.

Minimum Marks

A candidate will have to secure a minimum of 40% marks in the Written Test for qualifying the selection process. For SC/ST/PwBD the minimum qualifying marks shall be 35%  against reserved positions.

Obtaining minimum qualifying marks in the written test does not confer any right or claim by the candidate for being shortlisted for Document verification or the final selection, as the same is based on the candidate’s rank in the merit list on the basis of marks obtained in the Written Test, number of seats in respective Trades/Disciplines, candidates meeting the notified eligibility criteria and documents found in order upon verification etc.

Test Centre

For candidates applying for Apprenticeships at Guwahati Refinery, Barauni Refinery, Gujarat Refinery, Digboi Refinery and Bongaigaon Refinery, a Written Test will be conducted at the location of the respective Refinery Unit.

For candidates applying for Apprenticeships at Haldia Refinery, Mathura Refinery, Panipat Refinery & Petrochemical Complex (PRPC) and Paradip Refinery, Written Test will be conducted at Kolkata, Noida, New Delhi and Bhubaneswar respectively. However, exact location and venue details will be communicated in the Admit Card
