What is JEE Mains?

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is a national-level exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). It is the gateway for admission into top engineering colleges like:

  • NITs (National Institutes of Technology)

  • Other Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs)

JEE Mains 2025 Session 2 Result: What happens after the result?

Once the JEE Main 2025 Session 2 result is declared, here’s what comes next:

If you qualify for the JEE Advanced cut-off (which will be mentioned in your result), you can register for JEE Advanced 2025, which is the final stage for admission into IITs.

JEE Advanced 2025 registration will begin from April 23, 2025.

JOSAA Counselling

If you don’t want to go for IITs or couldn’t qualify for JEE Advanced, don’t worry.  You can still get admission into NITs, IIITs, and other top engineering colleges through JoSAA Counselling.

JOSAA stands for Joint Seat Allocation Authority, and their counselling will start after JEE Advanced results are declared (around June 2025).

Note: State & Private College Admissions – Many private and state colleges also accept JEE Main scores. So even if you don’t go for IITs or NITs, your JEE Main score can still help you get into good colleges.
