The IOCL Trade Apprenticeship program is designed to offer training in multiple disciplines such as Fitter, Electrician, Electronics Mechanic, Instrument Mechanic, Machinist, and others. This initiative is part of IOCL’s commitment to nurturing talent and providing career opportunities to the youth of India.

The Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) is one of India’s largest public sector enterprises, and its Trade Apprenticeship program for 2024 is a significant opportunity for young individuals to gain practical experience and enhance their skills in various trades. This program not only provides hands-on training but also aims to build a skilled workforce for the future.

IOCL TRADE APPRENTICES ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

  • Trade Apprentice – Class – 10th with 2 years full time + ITI Fitter/Electronic mechanic/ Instrument Mechanic/ Machinist. OR
  • Technician Apprentice – Technician Apprentice- 10th +(3 years) full time Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Instrumentation/ Civil /Electrical & Electronics/ Electronics) with 50% marks in aggregate for General and OBC & 45% in case of SC/ ST Candidates for reserved positions from a recognized Institute /University. OR
  • Graduate Apprentice –  Graduate in any discipline with minimum % marks in aggregate for General and OBC &% in case of SC/ST/ PwBD Candidates for reserved positions from a recognized Institute /University.

AGE CRITERIA:
Age Limit
: The age of the applicant should be between 18 to 24 years. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per government norms.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR APPLYING:

  • The candidate should have the scanned copies of self-attested photocopies of the following documents ready in pdf/jpg format (not exceeding size of 200kb each) before applying online –
  • Xth std/SSLC /Matriculation certificate and marksheet issued by concerned education Board as proof of Date of Birth.
  • Marksheet and Degree   Certificate   or   Provisional   Certificate/Degree   of   the   prescribed   Educational   Qualification-ITI/Diploma in Engineering/Graduation(as applicable)
  • Caste certificate in the prescribed central format, if applicable.
  • Caste validity certificate (applicable only for the state of Maharashtra)
  • PWD certificate in the prescribed central format, if applicable
  • Cancelled cheque/Front page of Bank account passbook
  • PAN Card
  • Signature in black ink. (file size should be less than 50 Kb)
  • Recent color passport size photograph (file size should be less than 50 Kb)

HOW TO APPLY:

The application process for the IOCL Trade Apprentices 2024 program is primarily conducted online. Here are the steps to apply:

Step-1: Open your search engine and visit on the official website of IOCL i.e. www.iocl.com   

Step-2: Look for the ‘Apprenticeships’ link under the Careers section.

Step-3: Locate the notification for the Trade Apprentices 2024.

Step-4: Register by providing basic details, then fill out the detailed application form with personal, educational, and other required information.

Step-5: Upload scanned copies of required documents, such as educational certificates, ID proof, photograph, and signature.

Step-6:  Review all the entered details and submit the application. Save a copy of the submitted form for future reference.

SELECTION PROCESS

The selection process for IOCL Trade Apprentices typically involves:

  1. Written Examination – A written test that assesses candidates’ knowledge in their respective trades and general aptitude.
  2. Document Verification – Candidates who clear the written exam will be called for document verification.
  3. Medical Examination – A final medical fitness examination to ensure candidates meet the health standards required for the apprenticeship.

SELECTION METHODOLOGY:

  1. The Selection shall be on the basis of marks obtained by the candidate in the Online Test and meeting the notified eligibility criteria.
  • The Online Test will be conducted with Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ’s) consisting of four options with one correct option.
  • The candidates will be assessed on parameters/sections as below.
  1. Trade Apprentice (Fitter/ Electrician/ Electronics Mechanic/ Instrument Mechanic/ Machinist) & Technician Apprentice (Mechanical /Electrical/ Instrumentation/ Civil/ Electrical & Electronics/ Electronics)
  2. Technical Acumen in relevant discipline
  3. Generic Aptitude including Quantitative Aptitude
  4. Reasoning Abilities
  5. Basic English Language Skills
  • Trade Apprentice- Graduate Apprentice (BBA/ BA/ B.Com/ B.Sc.)
  • Generic Aptitude including Quantitative Aptitude
  • Reasoning Abilities
  • Basic English Language skills

  • Basic English Language Skills -Questions to assess basic comprehension and language skills.
