COAP provides a common platform for a candidate to make the most preferred choice for admission into an M.Tech.

IIT Guwahati PHD Admission 2024 Selection Process:
- Shortlisting based on the performance in GATE/NET/CEED, grades/marks in the qualifying degree examination and/or other educational qualifications starting from Class 10.
- For MA/M. Des./MS(R)/PhD/Dual Master’s + PhD programmes shall be based on the performance of candidates in the previous educational qualifications and in the written test and/or interview conducted by the respective department/school/centre.
Institute Assistantship Test for MTech Level Applicants of PhD programme (IATMLA):
- There is a provision for availing Institute Assistantship for a PhD student without GATE/CEED but having the qualification of MTech/MDes/MS(R).
- If such an applicant is shortlisted, he/she may be allowed to appear in a Written Test on a prescribed syllabus. The candidates qualified in the Written Test will be considered for the selection process.
- Educational Qualification: M. Tech. /M. Des. / MS(R) who have NOT qualified GATE/CEED.
- Written Test Modalities: Offline test conducted at IIT Guwahati campus.
- Duration: 2 to 3 Hours. (to be decided by the respective academic division).

RESULT AND SEATS:
- The candidates who have participated in the selection process can check the status of the results on their login to the application portal.
- The candidate is Qualified or Not in result. If qualified, whether a seat is offered or in wait list. If wait-listed, the current wait-list number for OPEN seat as well as reserved category seat.
- The candidates who were offered seats have to accept the seats by making the payment of requisite fee before the last date mentioned there and Submit all required documents.
- Selected candidates whose qualifying degree results are awaited shall have to produce their original Pass Certificates and Mark Sheets.
- The selection may be cancelled at any point if the candidature is found to be against the ordinances, rules and regulations of the Institute.
