IISc PG programme get the full list

IISC PG Programmes.Indian Institute of Science Bangalore PG. IISc offers many courses for Postgraduates courses in M.Tech, M.Des and Master of Management courses. The eligibility is different for these courses and it leads to PhD courses. The total intake is 450 every year. The courses in M.Tech are through gate score and in some courses the requirement is a GATE score and an interview and written test.

Application IISc 2023 schedule

The application form is released online in March or April. Candidate must check the schedule here or on the official website in the Admission portal of IISc https://iisc.ac.in/admissions/

The IIS offers the M.Sc in life science and chemical science. Admission is offered on the basis of JAM score and educational qualification. The details are given here.

M.Tech and M.Des Programme

M.Des Eligibility Criteria

Bachelor’s degree holders in Architecture/Design (for M.Des. programme only)
Qualification with required GATE paper or CEED: B.E. / B. Tech. or equivalent degree in any discipline (with valid GATE or CEED) or B. Des. (with valid CEED) or B. Arch. (with valid GATE or CEED).
Selection Process: Selection is based on GATE/CEED score of 70% + 30% written test and interview
Areas of study: Product Design and Engineering.
M. Mgt. Programme
Master of Management Programme

Master of Management program to give exposure and training in Management and Business Analytics
Education Qualification-Candidates with a BE/ B Tech degree, with a First Class, and must have qualified in GATE 2020/2021/2022 and hold a valid GATE score card, or CAT 2021 or GMAT with a valid score.

Selection will be based on your performance in CAT/GATE/GMAT-15% + UG performance-15% + Communication skill-30% + Interview-40%
The candidate who is listed for the aptitude test/group discussion and interview will be displayed on the applicant’s interface on the IISc admission portal.

Shortlisted candidates can take a print-out of the interview letters from the respective candidate’s login page and make necessary arrangements for attending the interview. No separate communication will be sent by post.

 

M Sc Programmes
(i) Life Sciences and (ii) Chemical Sciences
Life Sciences
Educational Qualification: A minimum of first class or equivalent in Bachelor’s or an equivalent degree in Physical, Chemical or Biological Sciences (including Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, Veterinary Sciences and Agricultural Sciences) (or) A minimum of first class or equivalent in BE /B Tech degree.

Intake: 50

Qualifying examination: JAM in Biotechnology (BT) or Chemistry (CY) or Mathematics (MA) or Physics (PH) (or) GATE in Biotechnology (BT), Biomedical Engineering (BM), Electronics Communication Engineering (EC), Ecology (EY), Mathematics (MA), Physics (PH), Life Sciences (XL)
Selection Process: 50% written test + 50% interview. Candidates will be short-listed for test/interview based on their JAM 2022 in BT, CY, MA, and PH score / GATE in BT, BM, EC, EY, MA, PH, XL scores.
Chemical Science
Intake: 50

Educational Qualification: A minimum of the first class in B.Sc. or an equivalent degree with Chemistry as one of the main subjects with Mathematics at the PUC or Plus 2 level.
Qualifying examination: JAM in Chemistry (CY)
Selection Process: will be based on 100% performance in the JAM 2022 CY score

Aritificial Intelligence

Bioengineering

Qualification with required GATE paper: B.E. / B. Tech. or equivalent degree (with a GATE Paper in any one of the following – AE, AG, BM, BT, CE, CH, CS, EC, EE, ES, IN, ME, MT, PE, PI, TF, XE.)
Selection Process: Selection is based on 70% of the GATE score + 30% interview
Civil engineering

Computational and Data Science

Intake: 23

Qualification with required GATE paper: B.E. / B. Tech. or equivalent degree in any discipline (with a valid GATE) or M Sc or equivalent degree in any discipline (with a valid GATE)(Eligible GATE papers are: AE/BT/CE/CH/CS/EC/EE/IN/ MA/ME/MT/PH/ST). In all cases, a strong mathematical and programming background is required.

Computer Science and Engineering

Quantum Technology

Intake: 20

Tech. or equivalent degree in any discipline (with a valid GATE) or M Sc or equivalent degree in any discipline (with a valid GATE) or 4 years Bachelor of Science or equivalent in any discipline of Science/Research (with a valid GATE).In all cases, a strong mathematical background is required.
