ELIGIBILITY
An applicant of the Doctoral Programme is required to have:
Either to have first class Master or PG Diploma(2 years) in any discipline and a three years Bachelor’s degree with at least 50 percent marks in the aggregate
OR
CA with minimum 50% marks or CS/CMA with minimum 55% marks, with B.com degree;
OR
B.Tech/4 year’s degree with 6.5 CGPA or equivalent.
Non-engineering candidates who have undergone 10+2+5 years will be considered eligible to apply for the Doctoral Programme. CMA (USA) candidates are also eligible to apply for the Doctoral Programme.

In addition, applicant must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate in either the Secondary or the Higher Secondary Examination of a Board (or equivalent).

Appearing students- A final-year student appearing for the Bachelor’s degree examination in Engineering or Master’s degree examination in any discipline can also apply. Such a candidate’s admission will be provisional unless they submit the required documents before December 31.

Referal
Candidates have to submit one referral information. At least one referee should preferably be a faculty member of a university, college or institution of higher studies and research. The application will be treated as incomplete without these two recommendation.
Two recommendations are required (mandatory) for a candidate applying for the Ph.D. Both the referees should be persons who are in a position to comment on your candidature.
Once you have submitted the referee details, you will not be able to change the details of referee. The referee will receive the mail from IIM Calcutta with the login credential in which they will be asked for the recommendation for the candidate online only.

Selection Criteria
An applicant can apply to at most two areas of specialization. The candidate needs to have taken the Common Admission Test (CAT) in 2024 OR, depending on chosen specialization(s), alternative test(s) in lieu of the CAT as specified in the following table. The test score(s) should be valid on January 30th, 2025.

- Misrepresentation or suppression of any information/data in the application form, including use of unfair means to complete the application form (including plagiarism of content).
- Submission of incomplete application form.
- Informal recommendation/s or canvassing from any individual/s or organization/s (apart from the requirements mentioned in the application form).
- If you do not meet any of the requirements at any stage of the admission process.
- If you have been expelled or withdrawn from any programme of IIM Calcutta prior to submitting your application.
