The National testing Agency conducted ICAR Entrance Examinations for All India Entrance Examination for Admission (AIEEA PG ) & All India competitive Examinations (AICE) – JRF (Ph.D) – 2024 on June 29, 2024 in 170 Examination Centres located in 91 Cities across the Country for 46,452 Candidates in the Computer Based test mode.

Students for 30% seats in Master degree programmes in AUs are admitted through AIEEA (PG). All (100%) seats of the four ICAR-DUs namely, Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI) and Central Institute of Fisheries Education (CIFE) and CAUs, viz. RLBCAU, Jhansi and Dr. RPCAU, Pusa are also filled up through the same examination. Further, not more than 40% candidates from any one state shall be admitted in any agricultural university in a particular subject and category.National Testing Agency (NTA) has been entrusted with the responsibility of conducting the ICAR Entrance Examinations [AIEEA (PG) & AICE-JRF/SRF(Ph.D)]-2024 for admission to the Post Graduate and Doctoral Degree Programmes of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (lCAR) for the academic session 2024-25ICAR AIEEA exam for agriculture course.
ICAR JRF/SRF (Ph.D.)-2024
This exam will be conducted in 72 Subjects at 89 Cities all over the country enabling participation of a large number of candidates seeking admission to Doctoral degree programmes in AUs in different disciplines of Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Veterinary, Animal Sciences, Agril. Engineering, Community Science (erstwhile Home Science), Fisheries, Dairy Science and other allied sciences. II. Admissions to 30% seats [100% seats of Dr. RPCAU Pusa & RLBCAU, Jhansi and ICARDeemed to be University (DU), viz. ICAR-IVRI, IARI, CIFE and NDRI] will be granted under the ICAR-AU system.
It is to be noted that not more than 40% candidates from any one state shall be admitted in any agricultural university/subject under a particular category.
ICAR JRF/SRF (Ph.D.) shall be awarded to limited number of candidates based on merit in this examination as per their overall merit-rank and seat availability in different disciplines. The other candidates who are declared / notified as qualified for counseling will be eligible as per their merit rank and availability of seat for admission to Ph.D. degree programme, without fellowship, in the specific subject in the AUs. The above eligibility conditions will also apply to in-service candidates. V. Candidates declared eligible for registration and choice filling for counseling by ICAR will only be considered for allocation of subject and the Agricultural University. VI. There is no provision of direct nomination for admission through ICAR in any Doctoral degree programme without qualifying in ICAR AICE-JRF/SRF (Ph.D.).
The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) is the apex body for coordinating, guiding, and managing research and education in agriculture in the entire country under the aegis of DARE, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. The Admission to 11 Bachelor’s degree programmes of four years duration in the subjects is offered to Indian Nationals based on the merit rank in ICAR AIEEA(UG). All undergraduate Degrees in the disciplines of Agricultural Sciences have been declared as professional degrees
From 2023 onward ICAR AIEEA exam was discontinued and ICAR will use CUET score for its UG courses. Candidates looking for admission to an agriculture university must appear for CUET UG and choose their respective domains. The admission to 20% of all India quota seats at affiliated institutions for the academic year

Test would consist of three Sections:-
Subtest / Section A – First 20 MCQs will be common to all the 72 specialized Subjects. The questions assess the level of candidate’s awareness about the environment and its application to the society. The questions are based on general knowledge in the domain of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Dairying, Fisheries and Allied Sciences, etc. including current events and matters of everyday observation and experience.
Subtest/Section B – 50 MCQs will be from the Core Group containing the specialized Subject opted by the candidate for pursuing Ph.D.
Subtest/Section C – 50 MCQs will be from one of the specialized Subjects in Masters Degree opted by the candidate for pursuing Ph.D.
