Government Model School-Tamil Nadu government is supporting students from lower class who have entered the higher education such as IIT. One such example is Kowshika who has completed her class 12 from Model School and is set join IIT Mandi to pursue MBA in Data Science and AI.
Kowshika along with 461 students from government schools are joining premier higher education institutions, who were felicitated by CM MK Stalin at Anna Centenary Library here on Friday. Among these students, 14 will be joining institutions abroad –10 in Malaysia, three in Taiwan and one in Japan.
Government Model School in Tamil Nadu
Students joining the premier higher education is a result of model school where the students get coaching for competition exam. Now government is implementing in all the model school. The government will cover the 14 students first aborad cost. The chief Minister distributed laptop to all students on this occasion.
Kowshika is little worried about her future studies as she is facing the financial crunch. She looks to have paid internship or part time job after completing three years at the institute.
The students who are going abroad their first trip is being sponsored by Tamil Nadu government. Rest these students have to spare from the stipend they get every month.
The students felicitated on Friday include 54 persons with disabilities, who received special career guidance. Additionally, 64 students from 24 educationally backward blocks have also been selected,” said School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi at the event. In 2022, 75 government school students received admission to premier institutions. The number increased to 274 in 2023 and 461 this year.
We would like to update also that if anyone is not availing other scholarship ONGC has launched the scholarship for General EWS category. The 100 scholarship would be distributed for South Students who pursue engineering, medical or MBA courses. Click here to know more
How the coaching is offered?
Principal of the schools prepare a list of students who are interested in writing these tests. The students from government and government-aided schools will be identified and given coaching from 4 p.m. to 5:30 pm. on all working day
Coaching will be full time during the half-yearly and annual holidays before the NEET exam. The coaching will be conducted at government-appointed centres in Botany, Maths, Physics, Zoology and Chemistry.
