The GATE 2024 application form is opening on 24 August. The window for the application form will open on 24 August 2023. IIS Bengaluru will conduct this year’s GATE exam for 30 Papers.
The new paper added this year is DATA Science and Artificial Intelligence.
Admission will be offered to candidates into master’s & doctoral programs in the fields of Engineering, Technology, Architecture and Humanities etc. Candidates will be given admission into PG degree courses such as M.Tech/ M.E & PhD courses. Qualification in GATE is also mandatory for candidates seeking admission to various institutions
GATE 2024-The notification for GATE 2024 is released around the last week of August and the first week of September 2023. Once the notification is out candidate will be able to apply for 30 papers.

The GATE examination will be held in the month of February and it will be administered by one of the IITs along with IISc Banglore in two shifts from 9 AM to 12 PM and from 2:30 PM to 5 PM.

GATE 2024 Eligibility
Nationality | Indian candidates will be eligible to appear for the exam. Candidates from outside India, living in countries like – Nepal, Bangladesh, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia, and the United Arab Emirates are also eligible for GATE 2024. |
Age Limit | There is no such age limit. |
Academic Qualifications | Candidates must be graduates in Engineering/Technology or M.Sc in any relevant Science subject. Candidates in the final and pre–final of their qualifying degree can also sit for GATE 2024 examination. Candidates who are pursuing their degree course other than India must be in the 3rd or above or have completed their Bachelor’s degree in (Engineering/Science/Technology/Arts/Commerce) There are no minimum pass percentage criteria defined. |
Other Important Points regarding the documents requirements:
GATE Eligibility Criteria 2024 – Candidates who want to apply for GATE 2024 need to upload certain documents as given below:
- Candidates would need to submit their degree certificate/provisional degree certificate/membership certificate as issued by the designated authorities.
- A candidate has to complete the qualifying criteria in 2024 or later. Then, he/she has to upload the Provisional Certificate Letter or a copy of the marks card.
- Persons with Disabilities would need to upload a PWD certificate issued by a recognized authority.
- Candidates with backlogs in any of the subjects in their qualification examination would need to upload a copy of the mark sheet of the final year issued by the institute. The Internet-downloaded mark sheets will not be accepted.
- SC/ST category candidates must upload a valid document proof in order to avail of a concession in the application fee.
- Dyslexic candidates must submit a certificate that states the same issue by authorities.
