TSTET for Teacher Eligibility for government and private schools

TS-TET Exam 

Teacher Eligibility Test is a state-level written exam conducted to determine the eligibility of the candidates for the positions of teacher in Government and Private school in Telangana.

The application form releases generally in the month of March every year. The TS TET form is released on the official website, tstet.cgg.gov.in. Interested candidates can fill out the TS TET Application Form online from the official website.

The candidates who are applying for TET must note that a Diploma/Degree course in Teacher Education recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) only shall be considered.

Education Qualification

TS-TET PAPER-I (CLASSES I TO 5)

  1. Intermediate / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent)

Percentage-At least 50% marks, SC/ST/BC/Differently abled candidates, the minimum marks shall be 45%. AND pass in 2 - year Diploma in Elementary Education / 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) / 2 - year Diploma in Education (Special Education).

OR

  1. Intermediate / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent)

Percentage-with at least 45% marks. SC/ST/BC/Differently abled candidates, the minimum marks shall be 40%. AND pass in 2 - year Diploma in Elementary Education / 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) / 2 - year Diploma in Education (Special Education) in case of the candidates who have passed or admitted to D.El.Ed / D.Ed., course prior to issue of these guidelines ( 23-12-2015).

OR

(iii)Graduation with atleast 50% marks, SC / ST / BC / Differently Abled candidates, the minimum marks shall be 45% AND pass in Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) / Bachelor of Education (Special Education)

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR TS-TET PAPER - II (CLASSES VI TO VIII)

  1. B.A./B.Sc./B.Com.,

Percentage- 50% marks. In case of SC/ST/BC/Differently abled candidates, the minimum marks shall be 45%. AND pass in Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course / Bachelor of Education (B.Ed -Special Education).

OR

  1. B.A./B.Sc./B.Com.,

Percentage-50% marks, for SC/ST/BC/Differently abled candidates, the minimum marks shall be40%. AND pass in Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course / Bachelor of Education (B.Ed -Special Education) in case of the candidates who have passed or admitted to B.Ed., course prior to issue of theseguidelines (23-12-2015).

OR

  1. 4-year B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed., with atleast 50% marks, in case of SC/ST/BC/Differently abled candidates, the minimum marks shall be 45%.

OR

  1. Graduation with Language concerned as one of the optional subjects OR Bachelor of oriental language (or its equivalent) OR Graduation in literature OR Post Graduation in Language concerned AND Language Pandit Training Certificate/B.Ed with language concerned as one of the Methodologies, in respect of Language Teachers.

OR

  1. B.E/B.Tech with at least 50% marks and Passed / Pursuing Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or B.Ed. (Special Education). In respect of SC/ST/BC/Differently abled candidates, the minimum marks shall be 45%.

Appearing Candidates

The candidates, who are appearing in the final year of Bachelor of Education OR Diploma in Elementary Education etc., are also eligible to appear for TET Examination

Note

 Intermediate qualification of Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) of Telangana State or its equivalent as recognized by BIE-Telangana State only shall be considered.

How to choose language – I of TS-TET Paper-I:

These languages are offered under First Language in schools under State Syllabus mentioned below-:

Telugu, Urdu, Hindi, Bengali, Kannada, Marathi, Tamil and Gujarati.

A Candidate has to choose one of these 8 languages under Language-I of TSTET. The candidate should have compulsorily studied that language either as a medium of study or as a first language at least up to Class X. The candidates who studied CBSE/ICSE curriculum can choose the language which they have studied up to Class X.

Paper-II Language-

The Language-II shall be English for all candidates

Syllabus

Paper-I

The test items on Child Development & Pedagogy will focus on the Educational Psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the primary level.

The syllabi for Mathematics & Environmental Studies are designed on the basis of topics of Classes I to V. The difficulty standard, as well as linkages of content/topics, could be up to the Secondary Stage (up to Class X) for testing.

The test items in Mathematics and Environmental Studies will contain Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) not only on content but also on Pedagogy.

In Mathematics 24 MCQs will be on Content and 6 MCQs on Pedagogy. Similarly in Environmental Studies 24 MCQs will be on content and 6 MCQs on Pedagogy

Paper II Mathematics & Science sectors, questions will be as follows:

Mathematics - 30 MCQs (Content 24; Pedagogy 06)

Science - 30 MCQs (Content 24; Pedagogy 06) a) Content - Physical Science - 12MCQs b) Content - Biological Science - 12MCQs c) Science Pedagogy – 06 MCQs.

Note

For Paper II Social Studies, the syllabus will cover the sectors/areas namely, History, Geography, Civics and Economics. Out of 60 marks, 48 will be on content and the remaining 12 on Pedagogy.  

For Paper II, the syllabi for TS-TET of Mathematics & Sciences, Social Studies are based on topics of Classes VI to VIII. The difficulty standard of questions as well as their linkages could be up to Senior Secondary Level (12th class).

Note

The syllabi for Language I & II shall be based on proficiency in the language, elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities (standard up to Senior Secondary Level - 12th Class).

VALIDITY OF TET CERTIFICATE

The validity period of TET qualifying certificates for appointment would remain valid for life.

APPLICABILITY

The TS-TET shall apply to all schools, RTE Act may exercise the option of considering either the TET conducted by the Central Government or the TS-TET.

WEIGHTAGE OF TSTET SCORES IN THE TEACHER RECRUITMENT OF THE STATE

20% weightage is given to the TET score in the Teacher Recruitment Test in the State of Telangana.

Exemption in Appearing TET Exam

Teachers who were appointed before NCTE notification dated 23.08.2010 by a competent authority in Govt. /Local authorities as per Recruitment Rules prevalent at that time are exempted from appearing TET.

TET for others

Teachers working in private schools whose appointments were not approved by a competent authority in Government are not exempted from passing TET.

Such teachers of private unaided schools shall appear for TET conducted by either State Government or Central Government. In respect of non-approved teachers working in private aided schools, they shall invariably appear for TET conducted by State Government.

  • Photo Height = 4.5.cm, Photo Width =3.5cm
  • Signature Space = 1.5 cm
  • Paste the photograph on white paper and sign below (sign in Black Ink only).
  • Ensure that the signature is within the box
  • Scan the required size image containing the photograph and signature. Please do not scan the complete page.

Note

Applications with no photo/ unclear photo/ inadequate size of photograph will be rejected. Hall-Ticket will not be issued to such candidates.
