The CBSE conducts this EligibilityTest in two shifts for CTET Paper I and Paper-II. CTET Paper 1 is for candidates who want to become a teacher of Classes I-V and CTET Paper 2 is for Classes VI-VIII teachers.
Why Central Teacher Eligibility Testis important
Central Teacher Eligibility Test Eligibility certificate is a ticket for the aspirants to secure a teaching job in any Government or private school. Candidates who qualify the CTET exam become eligible to apply for the recruitment in Kendriya Vidyalaya, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya or any other Central School by applying to their respective recruitment drive.

 

Eligibility Criteria
There are two papers and have different eligibility criteria, candidate can check the eligibility according to choice they want to appear-
Eligibility Criteria (Classes I to V)
  • You have passed the Class 12 exam with a minimum of 50% (45% for reserved categories) of marks and 
  • You have passed the D.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education) course are eligible to register for Central Teacher Eligibility Test December 2020 exam. Candidates who are pursuing a final-year D.Ed course are also eligible to apply for CTET July 2020 exam.

  • You have passed Class 12 with a minimum of 45% of marks and have passed B.EI.Ed course (Bachelors in Elementary Education) are eligible to register for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test exam. 
  • Appearing candidates  who are in their final-year B.EI.Ed course is also eligible for the CTET exam.

  • Candidates who have passed Class 12 with a minimum of 50% of marks and have completed D.Ed in Special Education are eligible for the CTET exam. Candidates in their final-year D.Ed in Special Education course can also register for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test exam.

  • Candidates who have passed Bachelor’s degree and B.Ed with a minimum of 50% of marks are eligible to register for the CTET exam.
Central Teacher Eligibility Test Paper II  (Classes VI to VIII)
  • You have completed a Bachelor’s degree and have passed D.Ed course are eligible to register for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test exam.

  • Candidates who have passed Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% of marks and have passed B.Ed can also register for the CTET exam.

  • Candidates  have passed Class 12 and B.EI.Ed with a minimum of 50% of marks is eligible to register for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test exam.

  • Candidates have passed Class 12 and have passed B.A. B.Ed/ B.Sc B.Ed integrated course are eligible to register for the CTET exam.

Note: Reserved categories candidates SC/ ST/ OBC/ Differently-Abled categories will be given a relaxation of 5% of marks in the minimum marks required in educational qualification.
