CTET  2023 Exams Dates, Application form opening dates eligibility

CTET 2023 Exam: The CTET exam is expected to be held in December 2022 this year. The application form will open one month earlier in and around October or November 2022 this year. The exam will be conducted in a computer based test (CBT). The test will be conducted in 20 (Twenty) languages throughout the country.

CTET Exam

The CBSE conducts this EligibilityTest in two shifts for CTET Paper I and Paper II. CTET Paper 1 is for candidates who want to become a teacher of Classes I-V and CTET Paper 2 is for Classes VI-VIII teachers.
Why Central Teacher Eligibility Testis important
Central Teacher Eligibility Test Eligibility certificate is a ticket for the aspirants to secure a teaching job in any Government or private school. Candidates who qualify CTET exam become eligible to apply for recruitment in Kendriya Vidyalaya, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya or any other Central School by applying to their respective recruitment drive.

Eligibility Criteria

There are two papers and have different eligibility criteria, candidate can check the eligibility according to the choice they want to appear-
Eligibility Criteria (Classes I to V)
  • You have passed the Class 12 exam with a minimum of 50% (45% for reserved categories) of marks and 
  • You have passed the D.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education) course are eligible to register for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test December 2020 exam. Candidates who are pursuing a final-year D.Ed course are also eligible to apply for CTET July 2020 exam.

  • You have passed Class 12 with a minimum of 45% of marks and have passed B.EI.Ed courses (Bachelors in Elementary Education) are eligible to register for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test exam. 
  • Appearing candidates who are in their final-year B.EI.Ed course is also eligible for the CTET exam.

  • Candidates who have passed Class 12 with a minimum of 50% of marks and have completed a D.Ed in Special Education are eligible for the CTET exam. Candidates in their final-year D.Ed in Special Education course can also register for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test exam.

  • Candidates who have passed their Bachelor’s degree and B.Ed with a minimum of 50% of marks are eligible to register for the CTET exam.
Central Teacher Eligibility Test Paper II  (Classes VI to VIII)
  • You have completed a Bachelor’s degree and have passed D.Ed course are eligible to register for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test exam.

  • Candidates who have passed a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% of marks and have passed a B.Ed can also register for the CTET exam.

  • Candidates  have passed Class 12 and B.EI.Ed with a minimum of 50% of marks is eligible to register for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test exam.

  • Candidates have passed Class 12 and have passed B.A. B.Ed/ B.Sc B.Ed integrated courses are eligible to register for the CTET exam.

Note: Reserved categories candidates SC/ ST/ OBC/ Differently-Abled categories will be given a relaxation of 5% of marks in the minimum marks required in educational qualification.
