DUSU election minority colleges- The election is round the corner, today the final list of candidates will be declared. Now the news is that few minorities DU colleges will not participate in this year DUSU election.
These colleges are Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College, Sri Govind Singh College of Commerce and Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Khalsa College The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee’s (DSGMC) on Thursday announced that Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College.

Reacting to this one student knocked the door of Delhi High Court and his advocate Shashank Shekhar Jha, approached the Delhi High Court seeking the quashing of the decision, which has asked three colleges to disassociate themselves from the DUSU polls.
These college cited their status as minority institutions protected under Article 30(1) of the Indian constitution.
The petitioner has asked the court to quash the decision of the colleges to disassociate itself from polls as arbitrary, illegal and contrary to the rules of DU, the Lyngdoh Committee recommendations, DUSU constitution and constitutional principles.

The DU authorities said decision was taken by their committee and the DU constitution says that if two third of the students agree on this decision say not participating in DU election only this decision could be implemented.
There are other minorities college in Delhi University, Recently St.Stephen and DU have come face to face regarding giving admission to 7 students recommended by University. The court interfered in it the matter was solved.
We will all wait to see what happens in this case.
