The full form of DASA is Direct Admission of Students Abroad.

Who sponsors DASA?

 It’s a scheme sponsored by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. 

Conducting Institute for DASA UGA 2020:

National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathka

Purpose of DASA examination:

The scheme helps students get enrolled for Premier Institutions of India like NITs, IITs, SPAs and other premier Technical Institutions of India into undergraduate programmes in Architecture Planning/Engineering. 

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Age Limit: Candidates who are born on or before 1st October 1995 can apply for DASA

2. Academic Qualification: 

  • Candidates must have qualified SAT Score
  • Candidates must have passed 11th and 12th standards, along with Mathematics and Physics.
  • One of the subjects can be Biotechnology, Computer Science, Biology and Chemistry. 

3. Marks requirement: Minimum 60% aggregate 

4. SAT Score: Candidates must have a minimum score of 1800 in SAT Subject Tests (Mathematics Level 2, Physics & Chemistry). 

5. Residential requirement: Any foreign national studying in any country including India or Indian Nationals studying abroad can apply for DASA. Indian Nationals must possess at least 2 years of education, including 11th and 12th in a foreign country in the last eight years.

SAT Score Time Line

  • Last date for receipt of SAT scores for DASA, 2020 – 27th October  2020 for 1, 2 and 3

NOTE: ALL DATES ARE AS PER INDIAN STANDARD TIME (IST)

Details abouProvisional admission letters and reporting to allotted Institutions

1. Only the list of applicants, who are allotted specific Institutions/courses as per the allotment list and from whom the acceptance of the seat allotment has been received within the specified time frame, will be forwarded to the concerned Institution for granting provisional admission. 

2. The Provisional Admission Letter would be generated in this case. Please download and print the Provisional Admission Letter sign it and submit it to the Allotted Institute at the time of Admission

3. All admissions would be subject to the verification of original certificates/documents and satisfactory physical fitness as prescribed by the concerned Institutes during the time of admission. Not reporting at the allotted Institute during the specified period entails the cancellation of the allotted seat.

DASA UG Application Form Filling 2020

Candidates need to fill out the application form for DASA UG in two stages:

1.  Filling & submission of online application and Submission of SAT Subject scores to NITK Surathkal through College Board, USA. 

2. Candidates are also required to pay a non-refundable registration fee and tuition fee for 1st semester along with the DASA UG 2020 application form. 

However, the tuition fee will be refunded, in case they are not allotted seats.

Candidates should note that the fee payment for DASA UG 2020 can be done through SWIFT /EPayment/NEFT/RTGS Transfer.

Steps to fill DASA UG Application Form 2020

Candidates will be able to fill the application form of DASA UG 2020 in the following two stages-

Stage 1: Online Application

Stage 2: Submission of SAT Subject scores to NITK Surathkal through College Board, USA

Stage 1: Online Application- Candidates will have completely fill the online registration form along with uploading the required documents. The following steps can be referred to complete the DASA UG online application.

Registration- Candidates will have to first register in online mode by creating an account at www.dasanit.org. Candidates will be required to follow the given steps for creating an account-

  • Enter a valid Email ID. It will act as a Username.
  • Enter Captcha words (in the space provided).
  • Click on “Create my account”.
  • An email will be sent to the email of the candidate with a link to complete the registration.
  • Candidates will have to click on the link and follow the given steps-
  • Enter the Applicant ID (given in the email).
  • Create Password
  • Confirm Password

Candidates are advised to note the Applicant ID and password for future reference.

Application Filling and Submission- Once the account has been created, candidates will have to log in to their account using their email address and password. After logging in, candidates will be able to enter any number of choices of institutes and courses. Candidates will also have to upload scanned copies of relevant documents.

Once the documents are uploaded, candidates will have to submit the application form. Once, the candidate clicks on submit a “Preview Application Form” will be displayed on screen. Candidates are advised to check all the details in the form. If a candidate finds any error in the form, he/she can edit it by clicking on “Edit Application Form”. If there is no mistake, candidates can click on “Submit Application Form” to finally submit it. It should be noted that no corrections can be made to the application form after final submission.

Stage 2: Submission of SAT Subject scores to NITK Surathkal- Candidates should ensure that their SAT subject scores are sent to NITK Surathkal through College Board, USA before the last date.
