Kochi: The Cochin University popularly known as CUSAT students had a excellent placement record this year. The top companies are recruiting from the campus. This year around 700 final year students from various courses secured jobs in high-profile companies this year.
The packages offered are also bright with the highest pay of this placement season stands at Rs. 25 lakh per annum, and the average pay package is Rs.7.32 lakh. Approximately 75 companies visit CUSAT for placement. There are 4 companies offering more than 15 lakh per annum. The highest number of placements is secured by the students of Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Law, MTech, MBA and MSc programmes.
The major companies that took in students include CISCO, TCS, Accenture, Air India, TATA PROJECTS, IBM, MRF, Ernst & Young, UST,TATA ELXSI, SOBHA CONSTRUCTIONS, L&T Construction, TATA Consulting Engineers , Hyundai, Visteon, Alstom, Zifo, SAP, Reliance Industries, TATA POWER, IOCL, Gail , Numaligarh Refinery, Worley, Cairn Oil, Shapoorji & Pallonji, Federal Bank ,Gulf Asia, Vedanta, Nayara Energy.
The Chief placement Officer Girish Kumaran Thampi said “We had more placements for Civil Engineering , Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Law, Mtech, MBA and Msc Programmes.
The University established in the year 1971 and was reconstituted to Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) in February 1986. emphasizing post-graduate studies and research in applied science, technology, industry, humanities, and commerce. The university is ranked in various ranking done by different institutions. It is ranked 37 in NIRF ranking 2023

CAT 2024 exams is organized to secure admission to various UG/PG programmes of Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) for the Academic year 2024-25
This year exam is scheduled on May 10,11, and 12. The deadline for online registration for CAT- 2024 was March 20. Registration for MBA programmes can be done till April 30 and that for M.Tech/Ph.D programmes continues till May 31. There is a reasonable increase in the number of registered applicants for CAT this year.
