CIFNET Admission 2024-25: Apply Now

Applications are invited for the admission of VNC/MFC for the year 2024–25. The CIFNET(Central Institute of Fisheries,Nautical and Engineering Training) under the Ministeries of Fisheries,Animal Husbandary and Dairying.The application form and prospectus can be downloaded from the CIFNET official website, www.cifnet.gov.in, and applicants can apply with the necessary documents and application fee. The last date to receive applications is June 14, 2024. The test will be conducted in four centers: Kochi, Chennai, Vishakhapatnam, and Kolkata.

Courses Details:

1. 2-year trade course with practical training on board deep sea fishing vessel out at sea. These courses are introduced by the Directorate General of Training, Government of India, New Delhi under the Craftsmen Training Scheme of NCVT.
2. The Courses are conducted at CIFNET Kochi, Chennai, and Visakhapatnam, and these courses are residential.

STIPEND:

• Selected Candidates will be paid Rs. 1500/- per month and on Completion of VNC/MFC,
• Post Institutional Training will also be offered based on the merit rank with stipend of Rs. 20,500/- Per month and Onetime uniform allowance of Rs. 2500/- with the bond duly signed by the Applicant/ Parent.

CIFNET IMPORTANT DATE:

CIFNET ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

• 10^th Passed out with 40% marks in Mathematics and Science separately and the candidates who are appearing for 10^th exams during 2024 are also eligible.

CIFNET AGE CRITERIA:

• 15 to 20 years as on 1^st August, 2024.
• 5-Years age relaxation is available for the SC/ST Categories.

TOTAL NUMBER OF SEAT AVAILABLE:

Total 120 Seats are available for

• Vessel Navigator Course (VNC)
• Marine Fitter Course (MFC) 
• Gen/Gen-EWS/ OBC-NCL/Sc/ ST – 16-Seats
• State Government/ UT Sponsorship – 4 seats at each center / Courses Preferably from fishermen Community.

CIFNET APPLICATION FEE:

• Copies of Marksheet (SSLC/ HSC)
• Valid Community Certificate is SC/ST/OBC (NCL)
• EWS Certificate if Applicable

MODE OF SELECTION:

• In All India Basis on Common Entrance Test (CET).
