CEAP is a single window counselling process through common engineering procedure for ME/MTech/ March/M Plan courses in the following
- University Departments / Regional Campuses / Constituent Colleges of Anna University
- Annamalai University
- Government & Government Aided Engineering Colleges
- Technical Institutions funded by Central Government & affiliated to Anna University

Candidate must note that admissions to M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Plan. Degree Programmes is conducted under the following categories:
- GATE
- CEETA – PG
GATE Category:
GATE [Engineering / Technology] Category: Candidates who have GATE score in the appropriate discipline of Engineering / Technology. The merit list will be prepared based on the GAT percentile score in the appropriate discipline of Engineering / Technology.

Candidate with certain subject to appear for CEETA PG
GATE [Engineering Science (XE) / Life Science (XL)] Category: Candidates who have GATE score in Engineering Sciences (XE) / Life Sciences (XL) papers. Candidates with GATE score in these subjects have to appear for CEETA-PG conducted by Anna University, Chennai. The overall mark is calculated by considering appropriate GATE percentile score and CEETA-PG percentile score in the ratio 70:30.
CEETA-PG Category
Candidates who have appeared for CEETA-PG and who opt for admission through CEETA-PG category need not apply again for CEAP. Admissions to such of those candidates will be based on CEETA-PG scores only and the eligible candidates will receive notification for CEAP in the month of April or May.
