Many government organizations, ministries educational institutions, and departments provide internship opportunities for engineering students.

These opportunities can be very beneficial for you. Here are some of the best government internship opportunities for engineering students in India:

1. IIT Palakkad Summer Internship

This internship is for students of Engineering, science and Humanities. The Students of 3rd and 4th year of Engineering/Technology/Science can apply for it. It is a 6-week program and comes with a stipend of ₹8000 per month (total ₹12000).

2. National Renewable Energy Internship Programme: 

This internship is offered by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE). The Students of Engineering, Management, Law and science can apply for it. The internship is for 2 to 6 months and comes with a stipend of ₹15000 per month.

3. WSAI IITM Summer Internship: 

This internship is for those students who are interested in data science and artificial intelligence (AI). The Students of pre-final year of engineering or science can apply for this internship. The internship is for 3 to 6 months and also comes with a stipend.

4. Digital India Internship Scheme: 

Organised by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), this internship is for engineering, masters or law students. The internship is for 2 to 3 months and comes with a stipend of ₹10000 per month. Who are interested can apply for it.

5. NIELIT Internship Training: 

This internship is for engineering and polytechnic diploma students. It is for two weeks internship program but it does not come with a stipend.

6. TEC Internship Scheme: 

This internship under the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) is for engineering students who willing for this can apply for it. It is for 6 to 12 months and comes with a stipend of ₹15000 per month.

These internships provide students with experience of working in government organisations and financial support.
