Allahabad University has been ranked #80 in India and #2194 worldwide by Webometrics Ranking Web of Universities 2023 which was on 2386 position in the year 2022. The university has also been rated 38 among all the 40 central universities in India. Allahabad University is accredited by the UGC and is a very large advanced educational institution with about 45,000 students on campus.

Allahabad University has 32 academic departments which offer over 130+ courses in 4 different streams. Allahabad University Admission for UG & PG Programmes is based on various entrances like CUET, PGAT, CRET, GATE, and UGC-NET. The University also releases cut-offs for different courses.

The entrance test will be conducted in various centres of Prayagraj, Gorakhpur, Kanpur, Varanasi, Lucknow, Bareilly, New Delhi, Bhopal, Kolkata, Patna and Thiruvananthapuram

MBA

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION The minimum qualification for admission to the MBA programme shall be graduation from a recognized Institution (Degree Course of at least three years duration with a separate annual/semester examination system) from any stream. Students appearing in the final year examination of the undergraduate class are also be permitted to apply, subject to the condition that they furnish their final graduation pass result not later than the date of admission.

SEATS

After the implementation of reservations for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) total 57 seats in MONIRBA and 57 seats in GBPSSI are available. (the seats may be changed as per recommendations of the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India)

FOREIGN STUDENTS

Admission of foreign nationals shall be made strictly as per recommendations of the Foreign Students Advisor of the University as supernumerary seats. Foreign students recommended from time to time by the Government of India shall be exempted from Admission Test.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE The admission to the MBA course shall be based on an Admission Test comprising of Written and Oral Tests (Group Discussion & Personal Interview). All tests shall be conducted only in English medium.

Number of Students Called for group discussion (GD) & personal interviews (PI):

The number of candidates to be called for the GD and PI Tests shall be three times the number of Seats in the MONIRBA for MBA and GBPSSI for MBA-RD. Group Discussion (50 Marks) Group leadership test shall be done by grouping the applicants in viable groups and conducting a discussion on chosen themes to test the applicant’s leadership ability, group behaviour, and adjustment to group dynamics.

Personal Interview (50 Marks) Personal Interview will be held for each candidate separately to test the overall suitability of a candidate for doing M.B.A.

B.Ed

A separate merit list shall be prepared for Arts, Science and Commerce streams for the reserved and unreserved categories on the basis of scores obtained in the admission test. Only female candidates can opt for both colleges, therefore merit list for female candidates shall be prepared for both colleges separately

No weightage for NCC/NSS shall be given for Admission in B.Ed. course. Sports quota shall not be available under this course

No student of the University (Including any Institute thereof) is permitted to be admitted or enrol simultaneously in more than one degree-granting course of study (Including research) in the university or to be admitted/enrol in any degree-granting course of study in any institution (including an Associated or Constituent college of university) during the period of his admission/enrolment in a degree-granting course in the University.

Format of Admission Test:

B. Ed. The admission Test shall have One Question paper for Two hours duration.

This question paper shall have two sections. Section One will have 20 items on Hindi Language Comprehension, 20 items of English Language Comprehension, 20 items on General Knowledge and Current Affairs, 20 Items on Mental Ability and 20 Items on Teaching Aptitude. These 100 Items shall be compulsory.

Section Two will have 50 Items on Subject Content Knowledge. Every candidate shall have to answer all 50 items from any of the Arts, Science or Commerce Streams. Levels of items will be of a three-year degree course of B. A. / B. Sc. / B. Com. of the University of Allahabad.

Subjects- Arts stream will be from History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, Hindi Literature, English Literature and Sanskrit Literature subject.

Subjects of Science- Science stream will be from Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Zoology and Botany subjects. Candidates shall have to answer 150 items in all and each item shall carry 02 marks.

General Knowledge shall be from Indian Social Life, History, Economic Development, Five Year Plans, Education Policy, Literature, Constitution, Sports, Environment, Health, Geography etc. Items of Mental Ability will include Items from Logical Ability, Relational Thinking, Symbol Transformation, Abstract Thinking and Classification Ability, and inductive deductive thinking.

Total Questions – 150, Total Marks – 300

Test Centre and Mode of Examination

Admission Test shall be held through On-line Mode at the centre allotted by the university on the Admit Card.
