AAT 2024 Architecture Aptitude Test- The application form has opened on 9 June 2024 after the IIT JEE result declaration. AAT is organized by one of the IITs for offering admission to any of the three IITs that provide architecture courses in India. JEE Advanced Paper II was replaced with the AAT Exam.

This is a common aptitude test for admission to a B.Arch course in IITs.
Admission in B.Arch is still given on the basis of JEE Advanced AIR but for seat allotment in these institutes, the AAT examination has been made mandatory. Candidates who have a valid score in JEE Advanced can register for AAT.

AAT 2024 Eligibility Criteria
The candidate must have obtained a rank in JEE Advanced only then the student can appear in AAT Exam
After passing the JEE Advanced, you have to appear for Architectural Aptitude Test if you wish to pursue B.Arch. You can only pursue B.Arch from IIT Roorkee or IIT Khargpur and IIT Varanasi.

AAT 2024 Counselling
Seat in IITs is offered through common counselling named JoSAA.During the process, the candidates have to register and fill in their choices of colleges and courses. The candidate will get the seat on the basis of rank, preferences and availability of seats. After the allotment of seats, the candidates will have to complete the admission process within the given timeline
AAT 2024 -Architectural Aptitude Test Exam Pattern
The pattern of the AAT examination will comprise the following details. The examination will be only in English and the duration is 3 hours for answering 16 questions. The details of the AAT 2021 exam pattern are as follows:

Freehand Drawing-:It comprises of simple drawing depicting the total object in its right form and proportion, surface texture, relative location and details of component parts in appropriate scale.
Reference-common domestic or day-to-day life usable objects like furniture, equipment etc., from memory
Geometrical Drawing
Exercises in geometrical drawing containing lines, angles, triangles, quadrilaterals, polygons, and circles. Study of plan (top view), and elevation (front or side views) of simple solid objects like prisms, cones, cylinders, cubes, splayed, surface holders.
Three Dimensional perception
Understanding and appreciation of 3 Dimensional forms with building elements, colour, volume, and orientation. Visualization through structuring objects in memory.
Imagination and aesthetic sensitivity
Composition exercise with given elements. Context mapping and creativity check through innovative tests with familiar objects. Sense of colour grouping.
