Engineering in Medicine conference in IIT Kanpur- A three day conference is being organized in IIT Kanpur on the them engineering in medicine. The first day concluded on 7 December. It is Pan IIT meeting and conference on engineering in medicine, aim of the the event forstering collaboration in the heathcare sector.

The Department of Biological Sciences and Bioengineering (BSBE) IIT Kanpur with from Professor Ashok and Dr Rakesh Kumar Majhi with generous support of the Bhupat and Jyoti Mehta Family found and other funding agencies.
The focus point of this conference is healthcare sector, regenerative medicine,Molecular medicine and digital medicine. The motive of the event is strengthen collaboaration among IITs,IISERs and IISc all under the Ministry of Education by addressing grand challenges at the intersection of engineering and medicine through interdisciplinary team science project.

Ranjan Kumar IAS secretary health and family welfare department of Uttar Pradesh inaugurated the the event. Other distinguished guest Rahul Mehta founder of Bhupat and Jyoti Mehta family foundation, Prof. LS Shashidhara and Professor Manindra Agarwal Director IIT Kanpur. The conference had the participation of 300 including 35 Heads of Biological Sciences and Bioengineering departments across India, nearly 60 faculty members from various institutions, 14 eminent international researchers, and over 100 students and postdoctoral fellows.
This conference set as a platform for sharing groundbreaking research and discussing collaborative proposals and exchange programs. It also features presentations from 20 postdoctoral researchers who are eager to return to India and establish independent research groups.
The Pan India conference showcases the IIT Kanpur concern on advancing interdisciplinary research and promoting collaborations to tackle grand challenges in healthcare. This event marks a significant step toward leveraging engineering innovations to address pressing medical challenges and underscores India’s growing emphasis on advancing the healthcare sector through collaborative efforts.
