This exam is conducted twice a year by UPSC for recruitment to the three forces of India namely Army, Navy and Air force. The candidate can apply right after their 10+2 qualification.

But every force requires different qualification from the candidates to be eligible to be recruited. We have mentioned the qualification required for each force.
Educational Qualifications:–
- For Army Wing of National Defence Academy :—12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
- For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy :—12th Class pass with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
Selection of Service
The recruitment is done for three forces. But candidate has to choose in the beginning for which arm of forces he is preferring to go. He can choose as many option but according to the rank in merit a due consideration will be given to his/her preference for making appointment
No request for addition/alteration in the preferences already indicated by a candidate in his application will be entertained by the Commission. Nonetheless, the Commission has also decided to extend the facility of making correction(s) in any field(s) of the application form for this examination
Date of Birth certificate applicable
Matriculation or Secondary school Examination certificate will be treated as valid for determining the age of the candidate.
If you are not able to produce original Certificate
Candidates who are appearing in the 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination can also apply for this examination. Such candidates who qualify the SSB interview but could not produce Matriculation/10+2 or equivalent certificate in original at the time of SSB interview should forward duly self attested Photocopies to ‘Directorate General of Recruiting, Army HQ, West Block.III, R.K. Puram, New Delhi-110066’ and for Naval Academy candidates to ‘Naval Headquarters, DMPR, OI&R Section, Room No. 204, ‘C’ Wing, Sena Bhavan, New Delhi-110011’
Modification in OTR Profile and Application form
It can be done when the application form last date is closed
OTR form correction
Changes can be made only once in lifetime. The option to change in OTR profile data shall be available till expiry of 7 days from the next day after the closure of application window of his/her first final application for any Examination of the Commission.
Application Correction
Window is opened for correction in the application form when the last date of application form is over. Candidates will be able to do so within the seven days from the date of opening of correction window
Changes in OTR profile cannot be done by visiting the OTR platform and do the necessary changes. No changes can be done by vising the application form window
After clearing the written exam candidates have to login to these website for SSB round of interview

The candidate with Air Force as first choice are also to register on www.joinindianarmy.nic.in for AFSB and date selection.
