CBSE Counsellor Conclave 2024 – Children and adolescents are valuable assets to any nation, needing ongoing emotional and behavioural support for their holistic growth. School counselors are crucial in fostering a positive school environment, which is essential for students’ overall development and well-being. Research indicates that mental health support in schools not only enhances academic performance but also contributes to healthier lives for students.

CBSE Capacity Building Programs in 2024
CBSE has organized nine one-day capacity building programs in Lucknow, Delhi, Gurugram, Jaipur, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Guwahati from July to September 2024. These programs, conducted in a Hub and Spoke model with support from identified Lead Collaborator CBSE schools, align with the recommendations of the National Education Policy 2020. Expanding on these initiatives, CBSE is also organizing Counselors’ Conclaves aimed at transforming the landscape of well-being in schools.
Counsellor Conclaves and NEP 2020 Alignment
These Counsellor Conclaves, aligned with NEP 2020, are designed to upgrade the skills of school counselors, enabling them to meet the psychosocial and career needs of students effectively. The first virtual Counsellor Conclave in this series is scheduled as follows:

Objective of the Conclave
The objective of this conclave is to enhance the capabilities of school counselors in addressing the emotional and behavioural needs of children and adolescents. It focuses on professional development through ongoing training, resources, and best practices in mental health support, thereby fostering a positive school climate that benefits students’ overall well-being.
Call for Maximum Participation from School Counselors and Wellness Teachers
It is an opportunity for counselors to connect, share experiences, and collaborate on strategies to address psychosocial needs in schools. By aligning counseling practices with NEP 2020, the Conclave underscores the importance of mental health in education and aims to raise awareness among stakeholders about the critical role of mental health support, contributing to healthier and more supportive educational environments.
CBSE urges all Principals and Heads of affiliated schools to encourage maximum online participation of their school counselors, teachers, and wellness teachers in this Virtual Conclave. Participation is limited to 1000 counselors/wellness teachers from CBSE schools on a first-come, first-served basis.
