JNU one of the leading university is facing financial problem with income very low. What has been the problem for JNU that being such a valuable university is facing this problem, the income flow for the University is very. It offers the courses at very lowest fees.
What is JNU planning to overcome this problem to which its VC Santishree D Pandit said JNU has two properties at the prime location in Delhi which they are planning to rent out so that some income start generating.
These two properties are at 35 Firozshah road and Gomti Guest house, The idea is redevelop these properties or sell it.
There are 12 national institutes are built on its campus and these institutes do not pay any rent the VC said she will write to Education ministry regarding this for the rent these institutes must pay.
JNU is demanding the tag of institute of Eminence
The university is demanding the tag of institute of Eminence, this will bring the Rs.1000 Crore to the institute which will add to the corpus and interest it will generate will relieve the pressure that institutes is undergoing,’ VC said.
The V-C also said the varsity is planning on reducing its dependence on electricity by installing solar panels on campus. “Our largest expense every month month is electricity; students want everything for free, even ACs,” the V-C said.
