According to government data, around 3 to 4 crore people are engaged in the total value chain of India’s textile sector, which makes it the second largest provider of employment after agriculture.

The medical field is not behind in this race as the application of textiles in the medical field has been a game-changer, as the use of conductive yarns embedded with sensors to remotely monitor a patient’s health parameters has increased the demand for healthcare researchers in the textile business.

With the current focus on technical textiles, there is a rising demand in domestic and global markets. Indian manufacturers produce textiles that are classified into 12 different categories, including Agrotech, Oekotech, Buildtech, Meditech, Geotech, Clothtech, Mobiltech, Hometech, Sportstech, Indutech, Protech, and Packtech.

Textile Designer- The designer help in creating and developing new design and pattern.

Textile Technologist- The work demands testing and evaluating textile for various properties such as  strength,durability and colour fastness. A clothing/textile technologist works with a variety of fabrics both man made and natural fibres along with leather,fur,metals and plastics . As a technologist, you’ll source fabrics or textiles that are fit for purpose and carry out quality control tests

Textile Engineer-helpful in designing and developing new textile production process and machinery.  It is primarily concerned with the development and manufacture of textile fabric used in the apparel industry

Textile Quality Control Inspector- These people are responsible for ensuring textiles meet the standard for quality and performance

Textile Merchandiser-Responsible for sourcing and purchasing textiles for a company or retail joints

Textile Production Manager-Looks after the production of textiles in factory setting. They are involved in planning and organizing production schedules,overseeing production process and managing budget and resources

Textile supply Chain Manager-they manage the flow of materials and goods throughout the textile value chain from raw materials procurement to finished product distribution

Textile Sales Manager-These people are involved in the sales and marking department of company. The can work in Business to Business(B2B) or business to customer

Pattern Master- Planning and preparing the process ​of pattern making ​as per techpack received. Inspecting and validating​ the pattern

Fabric Printing- a process of decorating textile fabrics by application of pigments, dyes, or other related materials in the form of patterns.
