IIFT runs various short-term courses and weekend programmes in IB.

IIFT was conducting its own entrance test which was conducted by NTA but now the institute has decided to use the CAT score for the admission.

The institute was established in 1963 under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India to contribute to the skill building for the external trade sector of India. The Institute was granted “Deemed to be University” status in 2002.

The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) recognized IIFT as a Grade ‘A’ Institution in 2005 as well as in 2015. The Institute was granted the prestigious AACSB Accreditation in 2021. With this the IIFT figures amongst the top 900+ Business Schools of the world which have earned this accreditation. From Academic Year 2024-25.

CAT Score

It is very important to remember that to take admission to IIFT’s MBA (IB) and MBA (BA) 2024-26 programmes, it is mandatory to have a valid CAT 2023 score. The registration process for CAT 2023 has already started from 02nd August 2023 and the last date for registration is 13th September 2023.

The online exam of CAT 2023 will be conducted on 26th November 2023. For more details about CAT 2023, please visit www.iimcat.ac.in Application forms for IIFT’s MBA (IB) and MBA (BA) 2024-26 programmes will tentatively be available on the IIFT website i.e. www.iift.ac.in by the end of September 2023.

Eligibility

The candidate should be a graduate from any stream of education with 50 per cent marks.

IIFT will use its second round of selection for the selected candidates- Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD)/Extempore and Personal Interview (PI) scores incorporates Academic Consistency, Academic Diversity, Gender Diversity and Work Experience.

WAT, Extempore and Personal Interview

  • Writing Ability Test (WAT): This is the test for the shortlisted candidates they have to present an essay on a given topic. It is mainly based on clarity and ability to comprehend and the technique of presentation and expression of ideas of the candidates
  • Extempore: The candidates have to speak on any given topic at the time of the shortlisting process. It is the process of checking the ability of communication skills, content and ability to give new insights on the topic.
  • Personal Interview: This is the final round. It is based on the academic, extra-curricular and analytical performance of the candidate
