Odisha Chhatra Protsahan Yojana: The scheme was launched to provide free coaching for medical / engineering entrance exams to SC and ST students of Odisha state.
The govt. provides free training to 320 SC / ST students in various districts across the state. 320 students will be admitted. There are 7 centres of excellence that have been set up in the state run by the department. Coaching will be provided for various exams free of cost.

Eligibility
Applicant must be a permanent resident of Odisha State.
Applicant must belong to either the scheduled caste (SC) or scheduled tribe (ST) category.
Candidate must have obtained merit in class 10th examinations.
He / She must have cleared the selection test held among the students who have passed matric from SSD high schools.

Selection Criteria for Odisha Chhatra Protsahan Yojana
The students are selected for this coaching on the basis of class 10 score and there is a test for the students who have passed matric from the SSD high schools. The education department is running 62 higher secondary schools in 14 districts.
More than 30,000 ST and SC students appear in the annual matriculation examination. It is the opportunity for the students to clear the test and get a seat in any of the free coaching institutes.

How to apply for Odisha Chhatra Protsahan Yojana
Students can apply online on the official website as the application form is released online. Students can go to this website at sme.odisha.gov.in or at a dedicated new portal (to be launched soon). The application form link is provided when the application form is released.
The benefit of the Odisha Free Coaching Scheme
The education department has also signed MoUs with the coaching agencies selected for this programme.
These agencies will provide on-site medical and engineering coaching and preparatory training to the selected ST/SC students in the 7 Centres of Excellence.

Book Bank for SC students in Medical and Engg. Colleges (CSS)
Under this scheme, reference books are provided for SC students reading in recognized Medical and Engineering / Polytechnic Colleges in the State. An outlay of Rs.0.01 lakh is proposed in BE 2021-22 for the implementation of the Scheme.
Maulana Azad National Fellowship for Minority Students.
The objective of the scheme is to provide fellowships in the form of financial assistance to students belonging to Minority Communities to pursue higher studies at the M.Phil and PhD levels. The scheme covers all Universities/Institutions recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of the UGC Act. The fellowship is on the pattern of UGC Fellowships awarded to research students pursuing regular and full-time M.Phil and Ph. D Courses
